Thanks to everyone praying. Things are happening. I showed him several posts from y'all overcoming last night. He said he got on his knees after that. He got up to go in on 2nd and got a call saying he was fired for missing too many days. Then said to wait on a call from the manager. While waiting I showed him the comeback video from @nicksjuzunk. Nick, he was agreeing with everything he said so I am hopeful for the first time. Then he was called to come on in to work. TY!

Clear bell, clear mind.

Why does Pruitt care about a showcase...... just like all other coaches..... he will coach in the nfl till it goes away.
Because it limits your options. What if he isn’t retained in the NFL? Can’t even be interviewed for a college DC position...that’s lost money.

Prayers to y’all that a scare is enough for a change and it doesn’t come to true rock bottom. For all the bickering that goes on in here, it’s wonderful to see the good that can come from true community.

Do you really think keeping them was ever an option? And I mean from Fulmer and HW's perspective. Do you think they actually take the embarrassment of the demotion/reduced roll?

Not the way it went down, no. Both loved UT. Neither wanted to go. Both felt they had earned more time to right wrongs. Maybe they had; maybe they hadn't. But treat people with respect and make it a win-win and they're more likely to work with you to find a solution.

I'd say Holly was more hurt and emotional about it than Fulmer. Fulmer's pragmatic. He knows all about sausagemaking and backroom politics.

Have you ever done or heard of the Authentic Manhood: 33 men's small group series? We use this in our church. It delves deep into why we do the things we do, recognize our issues and then fix our issues through Christ. We really find the program to be extremely helpful in growing our men at church. Some of the videos can be a little corny but the information and subsequent discussion is phenomenal.
I have not.

I’m waiting through different faith based materials that are excellent. Looks into the impacts of neurobiology, shame and trauma on addiction

And he's still 100% playing the game behind the scenes.

Of course he does after what he did to Majors in order to become HC. Man may love UT but he loves himself and power more. He will always try to have his fingers in the pie.

Not to mention fundraising and donor/community relations. For anyone who can look at the big picture: UT could have profited by hiring an AD and keeping Fulmer in a fundraising/facilities role. He could have earned the money some find so objectionable and exceeded it in donations. UT could have fast-tracked projects that have bogged down since his departure and made coaches, donors and fans very happy.

Checks and balances generally work to a system's advantage. Example: we'd now have architect renderings for LNS renos and be moving forward instead of talking about the Vols playing in a downtown stadium.

As bad as he was at being an AD, he did some great things for UT including our last NC. I was just amazed as everyone else when he decided to back Pruitt which I'm still scratching my head over that one. He just wasn't cut out to be an AD but but he is still a VFL!

When you are on your knees that is the place from where you start to stand up.

That is great to hear @SweetasSoda !! Will continue to lift you and your husband up. Our God can do miracles. He loves even when we are His enemy and He longs for us to turn to Him.

There is only ONE who can break the power of addiction. I know this from my own experience. Praying for you both.

I'm not a political person and do not mean this as anything other than an observation and words I have heard.

The difference between a Conservative and a Liberal........ A man is 100 ft off shore and is drowning a Conservative will throw him 50 ft of rope and make him swim, a Liberal will throw him 200 ft of rope and let go of the end......either way he drowns.

Expect more from others because you just may get it and always expect more from yourself because you will.

Try to never ask for a hand out but always ask for a hand up if needed.

A simple smile will almost always be returned and appreciated.

The next time you are in a drive thru, look at the car behind you, if the driver is a mom with kids or someone that looks like they are having a bad day and if you can afford it, pay for their bill get your order and drive off. You very well may be making a kind gesture that could change their lives or their kids........try it. It really is the little things that count.

It's never about what you get but more about what you can give. Life really can be so much more simple than what we tend to make it.

Awesome!

Might I also suggest This Naked Mind. It is a free ebook that completely shifts how you think about alcohol, the cultural myths, and the psychological truths behind it. It helped me completely re-prioritize alcohol and cut back after being pretty bingey during my college years. But it is just as much for people wanting to cut off altogether as well. It is very non-judgmental, while being brutally honest. It completely changes your mind and perceptions of alcohol in a very positive way.

You saying your husband was very self-dependent made me think of this. It is something he can completely do on his own. Just googled the author (Annie Grace) and she now does monthly challenges, experiments, etc as well if he wants more of an anonymous community push.

Edit: she may have removed the free ebook. Now like $13 online, but I uploaded my ebook to a server. Hopefully the link works:

I was driving thru a Burger King Monday for lunch and when I got to the window, the cashier informed me that the person in front of me had paid my bill. This had never happened to me before. I was appreciative and asked her if I could pay the person's tab behind me and she stated "you may not want to do that, she ordered for 4 people and her total is $27. 50." Noticing in my rear view that it was a lady with 3 kids, I said go ahead and let me pay it. Had it been 3 or 4 guys, I probably would have passed on paying and did my "pay it forward at a different time, lol! But it really gave me a good feeling driving off.
