Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Seems like most of the time when I read an article about UT football it's about a new offensive player coming to town. Anybody else thinking the defense is definitely second string as far as the staff is concerned ... and the defense makes the I-40 bridge look solid? I'm thinking lots of points, and a very long year in the cellar.

We’ve recently pulled in a few transfers on the defensive side. We still need more.

We won’t be great there but shaping up a little better than I had expected.

I hope you are right, but I'm disappointed. We lost a lot on defense, and if the offense plays as predicted, quality depth on defense will be critical, and I'm not seeing that depth. It was a killer back in Butch's day, too - a lot of the reason we lost the second half so consistently. I'm thinking history repeats, and hoping I'm wrong.

I’ve been disappointed for more than a decade. I understand how you feel.

Dooley was real bad in the second halves too.

Almost two decades of suxtitude. I never knew when I was on the floor at my friends house in the 98 TN/AK game before the fumble and saying "we are a team of destiny", was the pinnacle. Those were my words. And their carpet was not the best...lol

I'm just hoping this season doesn't drive me to drinking again. Not sure they'd give me a second replacement liver.

If you share with them the suffering of vol fans from the last 13 years, they may be sympathetic and understanding of your needs.
