Yes go 6-6 and look entertaining.I think this is an extremely important season for Heupel and he definitely needs to be in win now mode for several reasons:
1. I think this is his best roster for the next couple of years, based on who's currently on campus (more below). We could be pretty thin after all the transfers.
2. This one is obvious for every new coach - it's easier to recruit when you're winning
3. This is the big one IMO - with last season not counting against anyone's eligibility, you're going to have a lot of players who graduate and still have eligibility over the next few years - some might have multiple years. If you want to flip the roster fast, this bloated transfer market is obviously a great place to get pieces. The more we win, the more we'll be an attractive landing spot for the best of that bunch - look at Oklahoma - and it can snowball. Good first season ----> good transfers ----> more wins in year 2 -----> more good transfers. Combined with good HS recruiting, Heupel could flip the roster pretty quick.
I agree. You're feeling too optimistic about our talent on offense.Been thinking about our talent on offense. Feeling too optimistic about this year. Just feels like if we can get some shootouts going, we may take a couple of games we shouldn’t in 44-40 type of games when the turnovers go the right way
Trying to build a roster through the transfer portal is a recipe for disaster.I think this is an extremely important season for Heupel and he definitely needs to be in win now mode for several reasons:

I just watched the ok vs Texas game from last year and it has made me really look forward to seeing what a modern offensive game plan looks like with our roster.Been thinking about our talent on offense. Oklahoma and Florida sure look like disasters.. 2 heisman winners and multiple finalists/multiple playoff appearances/multiple conference championship appearances in the last few years... we sure as hell don’t want that.. build it that right way!!Trying to build a roster through the transfer portal is a recipe for disaster.
I disagree. Other than players transferring back close to home, the overwhelming number of players in the transfer portal are there because they didn't cut it at their previous school. Trying to build a team from that population of players is a bad move. Adding a few players at select positions is fine. However, trying to flip your roster through the transfer portal is a horrible idea. Transfers become busts far more often than they become stars.Maybe (and I don't like this free agent market), but it could also be argued that a transfer today is not the same from a few years ago.

You're talking about getting 1 key individual from the portal. As I've already stated in other posts, getting a few key players through the transfer portal is fine. The poster to which I was responding was saying that Heupel should try to flip UT's roster through use of the transfer portal. That would be a disaster.I hear this a decent amount. This is just wrong. You see it over and over that transfers are insanely impactful. Burrow, fields, mayfield, kyler Murray, Jalen hurts
I mean it is critical to win in the transfer market if you want to compete at a high level and aren’t bama or clemson
We get Jalen hurts. Or have Daniels and we are talking about a whole different situation right now.
Lebron is amazing, outstanding and all-world, but Jordan is the GOAT if for no other reason than he didn’t let this numbskull (though amazing defender/rebounder) derail the last three-peat.

Did you see the picture of the guy, in Florida, who filled up 4 containers of gas and put them in the back of his Hummer 2 and they somehow caught fire and the Hummer was burned to a crisp before the fire department could arrive at the gas station? Karma came home to roostfill up your tank, move on. ridiculous.
