How much does Nike give us?
I spent a month and a half backpacking through China, Tibet, Nepal in the late 90s. Altitude sickness is legit. I flew into Lhasa (12kft) and had a terrible headache. Water and rest is definitely your best bet. I then took an overland trip up to Rongbuk monastery (16.5k ft) and had to start the rest and chugging water all over again to get rid of the sickness. Drink lots of water and avoid alcohol the first couple of days and you’ll be good to go after the first 24 hrs of misery.Late July is the trip, but I will identify proof of life (hopefully) upon my return.
My only trip to the Rockies I did accclimate in Denver before our trip into the mountains. I was fine breathing wise, but I couldn’t poop for days at camp. Not sure I ever did until we got back into the city.
