The Atlanta Braves

I keep harping on it, but if COVID is gonna kill our budget for years and AA is gonna keep any decent prospect like I hoard Dos Equis and whiskey on a three day weekend, then we gotta get creative. One way you can circumvent budget restraints as the Rays and other teams have shown is with a creative and forward thinking manager. Snit is the exact opposite of that. And his attitude towards Acuña is borderline ridiculous. He’s not a guy who can manage a team that isn’t extremely talented. He will lose you games. And he has this season.

COVID is an excuse for these cheapskates. We are screwed. Last year was the year and AA went all in on Kevin Milone. These people are morons! Thought you were pro-hoarding prospects tho.

He won't get fired until this team really starts to struggle, and struggle way more than they have now. I think it would take something like the Braves crashing and burning this year, then struggling a lot next year, to even get him on the hot seat.

Snit is not a good in-game manager, but very few teams (especially the Braves) are going to cut ties with a manager who has won 3 division titles in a row and was a game away from going to the WS last year. I think he has a lot of equity built up in the front office going all the way back to when he took over as interim in 2016.

I don’t know man. I’d like to think they’d fire him if we won like 83 games and missed the playoffs but this is the same organization that instead of firing the manager, they fired the GM and did a complete rebuild a year after winning the division because they “liked” the manager. Plus they signed him to an extension. Liberty Media cut OD payroll by $20M, not sure they want to pay two managers either!

And I get that. I’m not even saying he’s a terrible overall manager. But he’s not evolving with the game. I mean, he still thinks it’s the early 2000’s. Remember that ridiculous 2019 start where he didn’t want Ronnie batting leadoff? I mean he’s just way too old school for a team that isn’t loaded and probably won’t be for a couple years.

Oh and remember when leading off with Ronnie/Freddie/Bear gave us the best offense in baseball last year and Freddie talked about how he loved hitting 2nd and Snit STILLED ****ed with it because “he feels that is more traditional” man **** outta here

I still believe Ronnie should be hitting 3rd. Imagine him coming up in the 1st inning with a runner or two on.

Top 5 should be -
Oz
Dans
RAJ
Freddie
Ozuna

Ideally someone in this entire organization could get on base at a reasonable clip and RAJ would be fine hitting 2 but neither of those things appear to be true so bat him 1 and get better players

Ronnie/Fred/Bear when they are all hitting the ball is damn near unstoppable. I’ve subscribed to the theory that I want all my damage guys getting as many PA as they can and be back to back with each other. Give me my best hitters at the top.
