Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Again - your twitter nonsense is filled with BS and incomplete data.

• COVID-19 testing rate by country | Statista

Sweden looks worse because they test more than Finland and Denmark - and it isn't close. Your plots even hint at this.

Same with people saying that the U.S. and U.K. are failing - they aren't, they just have a better handle on administration logistics and tracking of tests. And also - I still question how we (and Sweden, U.K, etc..)are tracking deaths. From what I can tell, if there is a positive test at the time of death it is still counted in the statistics - whether the person died from brain cancer or a car wreck. So countries like us and the U.K. will always look the worse - because we are killing it with testing and liberally counting causes of death.

Seriously - I just don't get the need to blow this up into something it isn't and push an agenda. For once, you 'bros need to lay off Twitter and TikTok and actually present the stats with some context. COVID is serious enough as it is, and you should be ashamed and embarrassed for playing politics with it.

Once again burying the lede: While Sweden is on par with the other Scandinavian in terms of GDP growth in 2020 the UK is way off (3x worse performance).

UK shut down heavily and it's deaths per 1M are 1919 vs 1392 for Sweden.

the cumulative death curves is skewed too because Sweden has double the population of Finland, Norway and almost double that of Denmark.

So tell me again what we are supposed to be learning from the TwitStorm?
How to get your ass handed to you in court?..... how to lose any credibility you may have had by posting stupid S that actually collapses your argument?

Montana did the same thing.

Anecdotally, I went to Lowe’s this weekend and they were offering interviews on the spot. Took my son to a restaurant and there was a 45 minute wait because they were understaffed.

Things need to get back to normal. It’s past time.
We pivoted mid week last week. Went from following CDC guidelines to local rules. This means in GA we went full tilt. My boss asked me how many more tables I could open up in my restaurants this weekend. I laughed and said zero. I don't have the staff to do more in any of my 10. Applicant flow is close to zero.

I promised my kids frosties if they didn't act like apes getting Mother's Day gifts. There were 4 cars in front of us and it took almost half an hour. No one was allowed inside and it was like all the workers were one armed or something. I wonder if there are franchisees out there that know the only reason their restaurant exists is because CFA has deemed their location unworthy.

Can any of you explain exactly why nobody wants to work right now? I mean, stimulus checks only go so far, and we know that most people blow the hell out of them, rather than saving them wisely.

We have never had trouble finding nurses, and the applicant pool is very shallow, at the moment.

They all went "emergency traveling" for 5x their normal salary.

We had the same problem with Wendy's here. Just in general the labor pool here is very poor. They pretty much act like we exist for their gratification.
I'm starting to believe true customer service is dead.

Little bit of everything imo. Even if a job pays a little more why put up with all the fuss? Worried about Covid. Worried about maskers or anti maskers, family & child care, instability in the market, why get a job you will lose in a few months, summer vacation season, all the extra rules and work around Covid beyond the mask.

I think social distancing has changed the psyche of America. You isolate people, turn them against each other, tell people for months other people, and normal activities, are dangerous, and some chunk of people are bound to listen.

Another case of the "medicine" being worse than the disease. The government will claim there was no foresee this, but if you look at it objectively you wonder how it could turn out any other way.

Very long read, but well worth it. Again, Occam’s Razor. And this is following the science. The science of manipulating a virus and a narrative.

The origin of COVID: Did people or nature open Pandora’s box at Wuhan? - Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists

Just read it. The amount of evidence presented from prior to 2019 pointing to lab escape is impressive. Meanwhile, the evidence for natural occurrence seems to be, once again, “experts” who were involved directly with the lab saying since January 2020 that lab escape is impossible.

Another thing I've noticed at Fireman's subs...they seemed to cater to the Door Dash orders before anyone that was waiting on site seemed backwards but hey its their gamble

I have always believed this was a gain of function virus, I have always believed it's release was not accidental. As I remember the narrative of a bat species being the vector was never proven. I could be wrong but you can get 5 Chinese scientists to say anything at the end of a gun.

There is a connection between a North Carolina lab, their virologists who btw help set up the first level 4 lab in the wuhan province and certain groups financially associated with members of the CDC, NIH and the WHO. Fauci would be one of them. I can see how this virus response is only heading toward more government control of the population. CDC guidelines are now treated as law.
Every nasty virus or bacteria is held onto in these labs with gain of function experiments all with the intention of stopping the next pandemic. Well, how are we doing? If that is the goal of gain of function, quite frankly our experts suck or they know exactly what they are doing. They regularly use gain of function to introduce genome sequences from monkeypox, cowpox and multiple other viruses that don't cross species into viruses that will affect humans. It's all too stop the "next pandemic"

The testing has always been questionable. If you tested even those with mild exposure and no symptoms and cycled it 40 times on pcr they will come back positive. It only looks for 1 piece of a spike protein, could also be finding a protein from the 5 other Coronas. All from a test intended for research and not diagnosis. Yet I still see testing people for seropositive antibodies for covid done infrequently.

Yes we have virologists who are trustworthy and academically credentialed to the teeth being pulled apart by media if they state the .gov message is not correct. Those are the experts being ignored and destroyed. I have watched the "expert" Fauci waffle enough to believe he has an agenda. Continuance of fear. It has also been an absolute boon for certain groups.

I can't relay this strongly enough. Since the beginning of covid all 5 hospitals I've worked in have covid pts in positive ventilation rooms. Since covid can be aerosolized each would have to be in a negative pressure room.
The surgical masks we wear specifically warn they are too protect the wearer from splashes and large droplets. They are not intended to protect from a virus that is microns in size. Yet they are worn on units that are full of covid pts with heavy viral loads that are in positive pressure rooms that pump air out around the gaps in the doors. Not to mention the physical cost to the wearer of medical masks, let alone n95 that can have serious repercussions.
None of the 5 hospitals required workers testing unless they were symptomatic. It's at odds with the CDC concept of asymptomatic carriers. So we follow some CDC guidance but ignore others.

I've seen so many illogical steps in this whole process my faith in some medical people has suffered. My faith in peoples ability in the medical field to do what's right has also suffered. Leaving people on a vent for 2 months so they can end up vent dependent, in a facility, with bed sores the size of footballs that will kill them. Yay but they survived covid. That's the God complex on steroids.

Covid is real, seen many many deaths from it. I don't believe it was a natural occurrence. It has done exactly what it was intended to do, Thin the herd of the unhealthy. Eugenics is a real thing. JMO.

End rant

35% of Knox County residents vaccinated.

New cases
May 10. 11
May 11. 8

Looks like naturally infected, but not counted cases is very high and this natural immunity created from getting it is long lasting. And/or some people are naturally immune to begin with.
