I just had the foundation on my well house building leveled... a 12x20' concrete block affair on a slab. It was off so bad the concrete blocks had almost an inch gap on two sides. "Atlas Foundation Repair - Fix It With Atlas And Fix It For Good!" Lifetime Guarantee!
So they put six piers under it, got the slab back level, but then they just heaped the dirt back around it haphazardly and called it a day.
Two days later we had a heavy rain and it exposed a couple of the piers, looked like a river ran through it.
So I called them up Monday morning - Hey, can you send somebody back to fix this? Lady says - Well, our service schedule is about 20 days out for the next appointment. I said What?! I cannot wait that long! She said, Let me see what I can do...
So two days go by and I've heard bupkus.. meanwhile I went and got 10 bags of topsoil and started fixing it myself. Then at 4:00 on Wednesday, with no warning, some dude knocks on my door - Hey man, I'm here to look at those sinkholes. And I'm like, dude, you're a little late. Y'all could have called?
So Friday I picked up 20 pieces of sod, put half of it down last night and the other half this morning, and still have one side of the building to go.
With some things, if you want it done right, you better do it yourself.
