Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

The picture I posted had an offensive word in it. I get that email every few weeks. 😁
Been there, done that... got the emails... 🤣🤣 I have no filter, and make no apologies for it. 😜 Although I suppose I have gotten a bit better at self-censoring my pics & memes... lol. I try to play nice at times.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'd bet someone was getting their backside kicked after this...

Just in case anybody should wonder. Mopping a ceiling is a real pain. Also just in case anybody would question the sanity in doing such a thing. The ceiling really needs painting - and serious cleaning first. A mix of 1 part Clorox to 3 parts water does wonders for water stains and anything else that discolors a ceiling. Also ceilings in excess of 10 feet fall into real PITA category.

You do know that you can hire someone to do these kinds of things don't you?

Yeah, but I have a hard time justifying that when I can do it myself. I am going to break down and find somebody to do some floor leveling - the house is old, so some of that is to be expected, but it's worse than I'm comfortable with when not knowing the why part. They didn't build stuff a hundred years ago like we do today - I'm honestly not sure what supports the interior walls because it's not walls placed on top of a complete subfloor.

Does anyone know if they have lip readers in college baseball? I'm watching TN play Mizzou and they just had a huddle on the TN side and they all held their gloves over their mouths like it was the majors.

Dunn know but this home plate ump is inconsistent as heck.

Can you swiffer it? I have done some custom rags/solutions. Would be easier than mopping.

I just had the foundation on my well house building leveled... a 12x20' concrete block affair on a slab. It was off so bad the concrete blocks had almost an inch gap on two sides. "Atlas Foundation Repair - Fix It With Atlas And Fix It For Good!" Lifetime Guarantee!

So they put six piers under it, got the slab back level, but then they just heaped the dirt back around it haphazardly and called it a day.

Two days later we had a heavy rain and it exposed a couple of the piers, looked like a river ran through it.

So I called them up Monday morning - Hey, can you send somebody back to fix this? Lady says - Well, our service schedule is about 20 days out for the next appointment. I said What?! I cannot wait that long! She said, Let me see what I can do...

So two days go by and I've heard bupkus.. meanwhile I went and got 10 bags of topsoil and started fixing it myself. Then at 4:00 on Wednesday, with no warning, some dude knocks on my door - Hey man, I'm here to look at those sinkholes. And I'm like, dude, you're a little late. Y'all could have called?

So Friday I picked up 20 pieces of sod, put half of it down last night and the other half this morning, and still have one side of the building to go.

With some things, if you want it done right, you better do it yourself.

Did it smell like pine bark mulch? I have a container that I plant a couple of mater plants in and I'm good with an extra 500 tomato's over and above what I need. I bought a new bag O soil this year and it smelled like pine bark mulch. I'll see if my plants grow any at all this year, one of them looks sickly.
