You really are not that much of a simpleton? I call BS. You really don't believe that stepping on the footprints is going to make a difference. We stay 6 feet away from each other. Like on the little footprint things on the floor of the checkout isle. I'm responsible for staying on my footprints, you're responsible for staying on yours. (otherwise, stay out of the store)
I don't think it will make a difference at all, but I have no problem standing on the footprints if that is what the establishment is asking and if it might comfort some who feel it protects them. You really are not that much of a simpleton? I like the fact that I, as someone who is vaccinated, need to continue to wear a mask and social distance for the protection of those around me who have chosen not to be vaccinated. It makes me feel very virtuous and superior in almost every way to protect those who aren’t of capacity to protect themselves.
What I am sharing in no way is an attempt to speak for NurseGoodVol. But health care workers tend to be very skeptical of health care emphasis being pushed from a top-down approach especially if that push is seen to be political rather than efficacious. That's interesting. If you're that confident, you must know something I don't. Because I would bet that they have a mandate coming for health care workers and military... and govt employees and contractors.
Sure, it's the interpretation of the current science, and the need to further study that are the issues.
It's like when people disagreed on the science related to the dangers of smoking.
And just as then, there will obviously be "motivations" to interpret the science in a particular way.

They may be but they may not be. All one can do is go with the best available science and follow the rules that are established.so then why rag on people who don't follow the rules - they may be just as scientifically correct as the rule followers; particularly when there are "motivations" to make rules on interpretations of science that fit one's agenda.
They may be but they may not be. All one can do is go with the best available science and follow the rules that are established.
Or don't follow the rules and fully expect and accept the consequences, which in this case are little more than being ragged on by the rule followers (most of whom are following the rules because they believe they are appropriate)
Sure, I consider it every day. I've been vaccinated but I am still required to wear a mask at work. (a policy with which I strongly disagree)have you considered that not wearing a mask when you are vaccinated might comfort people who feel we'll never return to normal? or that it might help convince someone to get the vaccine when they see the benefits?
This "signaling for others" logic always seems to be a one-way street; there are plenty of people that would benefit from signaling in the other direction (seeing pre-pandemic behavior or not living in fear)
Don't take their ball away.I think yall are giving Luthie the business about standing on the footprints just because it's Luther. He is simply doing what the business is asking him to do. Most of us are complying with private businesses or avoiding the business if we are unwilling to comply. We all claim to respect the business to set their expectations.
How in the world am I ignoring that? We've seen plenty of examples already where the bolded statement is contradictory.
You are ignoring the consequences of following the rules - children are getting crushed because of these rules. Eg. The pandemic led to a surge in youth unemployment
We are talking about the government. Unless it's a law, they shouldnt be doing it.They may be but they may not be. All one can do is go with the best available science and follow the rules that are established.

I think if you have been vaccinated, you should no longer have to wear a mask.
There may be some circumstances where you may need to prove you have been vaccinated before being allowed to go mask free.
