The naming of one of his kids Shea and his "now all the Mets fans can put their Yankee stuff on" quote were 2 pretty good troll moments as well. He owned the Mets.

They also played a different game where stolen bases were important. RAJ leading off in front of Freddie and Bear, we don’t need the stolen base very often

They're still important. Easier to score from 2nd than first. The goat Mike Trout stole a lot of bases his first 10 years

I'm not saying RAJ has to steal 50, but he deserves the green light.

If he's gonna have the green light, can he at least slide feet first please? I know basically everyone these days slides head first, but still. Ronnie is a great base stealer, but he doesn't exactly make it look easy. Reckless abandon.

Another fun Mets stat...as good as deGrom has been this year, and he's been almost unhittable, they are just 2-2 in his starts. In the 2 starts they lost, he pitched 14 innings, allowed 1 ER, and struck out 21, and allowed 10 total baserunners. lol

Chipper was drafted as a SS and was going to debut in LF as a rookie before he tore up his knee. How bad he destroyed the Mets down the pennant stretch locked up his MVP, which he was plenty worthy of already.

Chipper had more power from the left, better average from the right, easily in the top two of all time switch hitters along with Mickey Mantle.

At the risk of inserting politics into this thread (although I doubt anybody here will disagree with this):

It is funny to me how the "I have the shot, but I am still not taking my mask off or doing anything" crowd are also the vaccine skeptics they claim to hate, but from the opposite angle.
