Knox county schools ONCE AGAIN every dashboard metric is green, except custodial staff attendance is red. It is always red and literally has nothing to do with covid.

Additionally , cowardly Bob Thomas, after hearing Governor Lee is letting all mandates expire, says Knox County Schools is sticking with masks.

We're having a huge push here to get rid of masks and there is a lot of momentum. I don't think they disappear before the year is over though

I will say that the photos from DeSantis visiting my kids classroom seemed to have the effect he was going for. An unmasked governor surrounded by a class of masked 8-9yo provided a great visual and lots of comments on fb

Haha, maybe I should have waited, too. I didn't pull any punches this time. In so many words, I told them that any further damage to the children (mental health, educational loss, suicide, etc) was their fault.

They want to hide behind doing nothing, punting to others to make the call, thinking that absolves them of anything. I said they were opening themselves to legal issues by continuing a policy that is potentially detrimental to the long term health of kids.

A private school in South Florida notified the students’ parents Monday that its new policy prohibits vaccinated teachers and staff members from being employed at the school.

The statement sent out Monday informed parents that the school has requested its employees who have not received “experimental COVID-19 injection” to “wait until the end of the school year” to do so.

The Centner Academy, founded by the anti-vaccine advocate Leila Centner in 2019, has about 300 students and promotes “medical freedom” from vaccines on its website. The school also offers help to parents willing to opt out of some immunization programs mandatory for students in Florida, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Surprisingly, I heard back from the Chair of the KCBOE this morning. She and Thomas have called a special meeting for Friday morning to discuss and vote, since the "state of emergency that allowed the policy has expired." (Her words)

Fantastic news. Flood the emails and phones.

Teachers: We freely choose to be vaccinated.
FA: We don't support that kind of freedom.

Wtf? I get not requiring it, but not banning it. That's wrong. What are they worried about with vaccinated mixing with the non? Do they think vaccines are contagious?
