It's going to be interesting when the reason that DC is a district and not a state or part of a state comes up. Citizens of 50 other states might have some second thoughts about a tiny but powerful 51st state that happens to house the seat of the federal government. They have pumped out flawed theory after theory that the feds put in practice because there is a very incestuous relationship between the ivy leagues and government.
