Honestly I’d guess there were a lot of reasons relating to economics, geography, etc...

look at Ancient Greece and Egypt. They didn’t just suddenly become dumb. It isn’t about race it’s about culture and personal Liberty promoting free thinking.

I have no idea what the reasons really are. Something had to encourage the culture that promoted liberty and free thinking. Was it coincidence that it came out of Europe and not Asia or Africa, or even the Middle East? There were a lot of smart people in places around those, but they weren't able to make the advances we've seen recently.

I'm big on not discarding the wisdom of the past, so I'm not trying to discard their accomplishments. My favorite writings are thousands of years old. But why was it just relatively recently that humanity changed like it did?

I’d submit it was more due to the development of modern governmental architecture and personal Liberty that promoted the advancement of science and individuals knowledge growth.

No I’m not rich and famous. But I’m comfortable and able to afford what toys I want. That is due to my education and my skills development in my career field, engineering. Nobody gave me either one of those I wanted a better life so I went and got it.

I’m privileged in that I was born in a free country that is more prosperous than any civilization before. Also that I was raised by parents who stayed together, had a solid value system, and put in the work to instill those values into their children.

Not sure about you, but I went to school with black peers who ended up at Duke, Harvard, Dartmouth, and Yale.

Others were not as fortunate. I know of several who ended up dead or in prison. Including some of my white classmates. One is doing life without parole for murder. We were all afforded the same opportunity. Some chose unwisely. Others didn’t have the same privilege I referenced in paragraph one.
