I think we are somewhere in between. We still have some officers with a complex that’s overly aggressive and step all over people’s natural rights to be left alone. On the other hand we have officers who are respectful, recognize others rights and only intervene when there’s an injured party.Why was he pulled over?
When you answer thar question, then you can ask yourself if we live in a corrupt police state or if everything is just fine.
90% of my interactions with police have been fine. I’ve stopped at accidents that happen in front of me and the police appreciated my intervention and triage. Once the scene is under control, I leave. Both tickets I’ve received in 25 years have been perfectly cordial.
I interact with police at work with prisoners. They even help me pull prisoners up in bed.
I get to see the human side. I definitely have a problem with those who act like robots, take steroids, act like God and trample on people’s rights. I still feel that’s a small percentage.
