20, 50, 100 years ago people didn’t blow things out of proportion as much ...unless you were a crony of Joseph McCarthy, or happened to be a witch around Salem...

I don’t have all the information I would need to pass judgment. So I am willing to wait before I condemn someone.
They didn’t have to make complaints as often because behavior was generally better back then as a oct if the population.

You have the responsibility to make the decision to look for those with positive influences like maybe the hospital chaplain or family or UT counseling services instead of tagging along with losers who break in into an drug dealers room, assault the person living there and stealing illegal drugs. (If all this is true) Sorry but Salter does not get a pass. The Qb’s are supposed to be the leaders of the team, not outlaws and thugs. Sorry guys, but for the ones believing Salter is our future Qb , it appears
You have picked a loser. Now he is complaining about nine of the coaches wishing him a happy birthday. What a prima Donna. If I was a coach I would be close to taking the schilling away from him. Cut your losses ASAP when you have known losers on the team.

(If all this is true) is the best part of your post. You have already accused, tried, convicted, and condemned someone based off conjecture and apparent heresy

Seriously? Seriously? What the hell happened to innocent until proven guilty?

By definition: Social Justice Warrior (as I understand it)

See what I did there?

I stated several times if it was true. However the fact remains that Salter was suspended so obviously the Coaching staff or Administration believes something occurred. As far as charges not being applied , really doesn’t mean anything. Coverups in Athletics happen all the time and the story may not be finished yet.
So if the end result doesn't fit your narrative, it has to be a cover up.

I don’t know what the end result will be but Salter was suspended along with several others. That’s a fact.
Thanks, Captain Obvious. The fact that he has been suspended has nothing to do with whether or not he remains part of the team. Fortunately, that decision is not up to you.

My guess is Salter was suspended from football activity because it was a violation of the student code of conduct. Regardless of charges, that needs to be resolved before he can proceed with football. Two of the four objectives for “sanctions” for violating the code of conduct are 1. educating the Respondent about appropriate conduct; and 2. promoting the personal and professional development of the Respondent. So, they weigh the violation, and as long as it’s not serious, they offer assistance and rehabilitation to get you back on track.

I would guess this is all standard operating procedure.

The reason I fell in love with the Vols to start with was because when I was 16, after being mostly raised in the Texas Panhandle, we came home to Knoxville in 85 just in time for the Sugar Vols to be my first season of immersion into Tennessee football with my extended family.

That was not a juggernaut team, it was a underdog team that just played their hearts out, so to me that team was, and always has been to me the epitome of what Tennessee football should be about. If we can get a team full of guys like that again, pure dogs that will collectively outplay their ranking and from their hearts...I will be happy

Still my favorite team. Absolutely owned the mighty miami hurricanes. Team leading RB was a converted sprinter. Team leader and SEC leader in interceptions was a walkon. MVP was a backup QB. Meanest group of undersized DL I have ever seen.

Told them that they should not even be on the same field as the hurricanes....They took that challenge and absolutely embarrassed the canes 35-7 Vinnie Who?

I would love to see another group of Tennessee players rise to that team level.

The post was had anyone came into the NC game undefeated and one poster said the last time was Larry Bird and Indiana State. That is incorrect, UNLV came into the 91 championship undefeated but then lost to Duke.
A year after getting blown out by 30 points in the national championship game, Duke got revenge on UNLV in the 1991 Final Four with a 79-77 semifinal win. Christian Laettner[/B] led the Blue Devils with 28 points.

Damn, we would be fine on defense if our LBs had your tenacity.
I am done.

I don’t understand how we “know” this when we refused to play any of them until late in the year. Pretty sure we will find a QB in that room that will probably put up 50 points in game one.

They didn’t play because they couldn’t beat out JG. You’re very optimistic projecting 50 pts with our current QB situation. Throw in the OL, we’ve got even bigger problems. I hope I’m wrong. The crow would taste fantastic!

Bowling Green is terrible. Our former coach chose to play JG. Part of that was their belief that Bailey wasn’t ready; not that he was bad.

We really don’t know anything about our QB’s and how they would play in this offense. Not sure why you are relying on Jeremy Pruitt’s decisions.
