The older "safety" ones with the push down lever weren't horrible. Those are the ones I have around and switch from can to can.

But can we say "thanks Dubya!" for making them mandatory.

The fix for corporate taxes, is more corporate taxes. So close to self awareness. So close.

Although I do appreciate the typical government method of breaking something, complaining about it being broke, and then breaking it more to fix it.

Maybe somebody somewhere has figured out that globalism isn't working for us and that costs like corporate taxes don't help. So in that tiny little mind there's the thought that if you can somehow force other countries to increase/maintain corporate tax rates, then we can pump ours back up. The spin off is that you'd have to do the opposite of what the Paris environmental peace treaty did and apply the same process to regulatory rules and costs worldwide. It's obvious our government (and most likely corporate leadership) is lost in the either.

The time to panic is when someone in government has the guts to bring up population increase as the problem - which it is in many ways (particularly with respect to infrastructure and environment), and how a large percentage of the population isn't really doing anything productive.
