It would have been better if Gonzaga had lost a game or two in the regular season. There is so much more pressure to come into a NC game undefeated. Had anyone done it since the Running Rebels against Duke in the early 90’s.

I didn’t think it would before the game, but that UCLA game did hurt Gonzaga big time. Baylor came out swinging and Zags had heavy legs.

Hard to know. Sometimes a team that has easier games fades in a tough matchup. I think Baylor just had more desire and motivation than Gonzaga did early on.

No doubt and great team. That said, Gonzaga has played plenty of P5 teams this tourney and made them look silly. Baylor was just better, period.

Dad in ICU is even more reason he should show some maturity. He’s a man now. He needs to act like one.

He's literally not. He's a kid. He's living away from home right now. He has all the stresses of college life in a new state along with the added stress of his dad's health crisis. It's a mistake, not a pattern. He deserves some slack. Hopefully, he learns from this incident and matures going forward.

UNLV lost in semis to Duke. Last team to get to the championship game undefeated was Larry Bird in 79

I actually thought we would have a quiet spring too with this new staff. Boy was I wrong. There's too many quitters (Tootoo and Couch) babies and trouble makers (Salter) psychopaths (Beasley) and some dude (probably Flowers) that shot his own damn teammate last year still on the team.

I think Heupel knows he's in deep shi*. From what @LA Vol says, I also believe he will recruit high character low ranked guys like Barnes started out with and coach them up. Do it "the right way". We'll see how that works out...
Was stated that it was not Flowers or Taylor that shot Davis. It was someone else.

I think UNLV blew out Duke the year before and finished undefeated and National Champions. That’s why Dukes defeat of them the next year was shocking.

Edit: Had to look it up. UNLV finished 35-5 and beat Duke by 30 in 1990 championship.

The next year(91) UNLV was 34-0 and lost to Duke in the NC game. Finished 34-1.

The last team to win the NC and go undefeated was Indiana in the 75-76 season.

They weren’t undefeated the first year. Last team to go undefeated was Indiana in 76 and the last undefeated to make it to the championship game was Indiana State.

Actually it was UNLV in the 90-91 season. Finished 34-1 after losing to Duke in the NC game. You are right about the year before. UNLV was 35-5 winning the NC in the 89-90 season.

ATL and some others insiders have talked about news they hoped didn't get out that would be very damaging to Pruitt. I am curious if that news is the full story of what happened in the Brandon Davis situation? What do you guys think?
Word of advice, don't listen to Atl. He's proven himself unreliable, numerous times now.

BS. Stop trying to lower the standards for decent behavior.

He actually was right in that we were offering big money to certain coaches but was totally wrong with his inflated opinion of White and whether he would seal the deal with top candidates. He hasn’t been heard from since a day or two before the Heupel presser announcing his hiring. Embarrassed I guess.
