It amazes me how thick skulled so many Americans areLol at people cheering for increased corporate taxes like that’s coming out of the corporation’s or CEO’s pocket. That is just an expense to them, one that will increase the cost of goods that John Q Public buys. You want a regressive and hidden tax, well here you go.
Yep, when a Republican is back in the White House everyone will switch again. Just the nature of our system; when you have a two party system, there are always going to be "government" and "anti-government" sides that will swap roles accordingly.
Well that is true, but it still works both ways. Dems will expand the government on the environment, etc., but also want to reduce it in other areas like cannabis legalization, social issues, etc. And a lot of the GOP right now are anti-Biden, same as many Democrats were anti-Trump. It is different sides of the same coin, just different areas that each camp want to expand government in. Makes one kind of wish we had multiple viable parties.I generally agree but even with Trump expanding the gov in some areas he actively reduced the government in others. I don't think Dems were anti-government; they were anti-Trump and one of the things they howled about was lowering government control of things like the environment, healthcare, etc.
And I used bad terminology now that I think about it. It is more "establishment" v. "opposition".I generally agree but even with Trump expanding the gov in some areas he actively reduced the government in others. Actually creating more laws and regulatory entities to deal with something expands the govt. This is what would happen when the govt jumps in on social issues and weed. In no way is it a reductionWell that is true, but it still works both ways. Depends on how they go about it, but yeah that can definitely happen. And that is still not just a Democrat problem. The GOP is not above creating laws and regulations regarding social issues or weed either.Actually creating more laws and regulatory entities to deal with something expands the govt. I know the gop isn't and say it often. However forcing things to be legal requires all kinds of new laws and regs that expand govt. The left had zero interest in making it smaller as you attempted to claimDepends on how they go about it, but yeah that can definitely happen. And that is still not just a Democrat problem. I disagree with your last point, I have plenty of interest in it on all levels of government. As I mentioned earlier, both sides are interested in expanding government in some areas and decreasing it in other areas. Honestly if we are going to look at it fairly, neither side is interested in reducing the overall size of government.I know the gop isn't and say it often. Disagree all you want but it's wrong. You decrease govt by reducing their influence and the laws associated. You don't do it by passing more laws and regs and creating new agencies to oversee those new laws and regs. Want to make something legal? Eliminate the laws that make it illegalI disagree with your last point. As I mentioned earlier, both sides are interested in expanding government in some areas and decreasing it in other areas. Outside of cops what social issues will be addressed with less government? Everything I have seen is more government, as if it wasnt government effing the pooch to begin with.Well that is true, but it still works both ways. The public doesn't care as long as it sounds good. They're worse at math than Joe isSo Biden just repeated the corporate tax rate fallacy - he cited some # of Fortune 500 companies that paid zero tax. If he's just changing the rate then they will continue to pay zero.
Either he doesn't understand what rates are applied to or he's BSing the public
Why not both? It's not just the public that's kept willfully ignorant. So Biden just repeated the corporate tax rate fallacy - he cited some # of Fortune 500 companies that paid zero tax. If he's just changing the rate then they will continue to pay zero.

You don't make politics a career without learning how to dish out red meat to your base without starving your corporate donors. It's one reason I find him so loathsome. So Biden just repeated the corporate tax rate fallacy - he cited some # of Fortune 500 companies that paid zero tax.
