I get that for a regular day, but it's Opening Day. The only time MLB gets any kind of national buzz whatsoever is Opening Day, the HR Derby/All Star Game, and the World Series. Gotta expose your product as much as possible.

Their pitching is not great, I'll admit, but it's curious that isn't the reason people are writing them off. People are writing them off largely because there's an assumption that Rizzo and Bryant are cooked, which seems knee-jerk and way premature to say.

Fair enough. It’s the pitching for me. I think they’re undermanned at every rotation slot and the bullpen is even worse.

You're right though - they need a great season from Hendricks and a renaissance from Jake Arrieta just to have an "OK" starting staff.
