HT will have a problem starting at schools like Bama,OSU, Ga or even Fla. If only he was as good as he thinks he is. I wish he would hurry up and go and be done with him.
If I was the coach he would be done. With new leadership it is more important to get players that want to be there instead of being a fall back in case I cant go where I want. Program need buy in from everyone.

He should have already been told bye and make sure he takes his loud mouth daddy with him.

I’m sorry but some of y’all encouraging Keon to come back are terrible at advice. He’s a consensus too 10 pick and will get paid heavily with life changing money. He needs to go.
I doubt Keon is logging onto VN looking for advice rather to go or stay. The kid is going to do what he feels like he needs to do.

1. How many athletes get that life changing money and are broke within a couple years?
2. Right now he is very raw and would be drafted on potential coming back and developing more increases his chances at a second fat contract.

Haha, encouragement is the wrong word. First, there isn’t any way Keon isn't listening to a word any of us are saying. Second, our hope is for the good of the team next year and the additional hope that it would bump him into a Top 5 spot. Purely selfish, with no negative intended for Keon.

Seen him play many times. I could walk to his high school stadium from my office. I’m not saying he can’t move a little when needed, but it’s not the same letting hooker come in to run when you’re in the red zone.
I think his biggest issue to this point is that he has had neither competent coaching nor a legitimate opportunity. I am very excited to see what he might do in Heupel's offense.

We had 4 five stars on our offensive line last year. They were widely expected to be competing for the claim to be the best offensive line in the conference if not the entire country. That expectation was not limited to us sunshine pumpers here on VolNation or elsewhere in our fanbase. That expected elite performance never materialized, not even close. jmo.

Why not? I suspect it was because of an absence of genuine purpose-driven leadership in their group. We had some individual talent on the line, exceptional individual talent in the case of Trey, but as a unit they grossly underperformed. That’s either on them or it’s on the coaches, or both. jmo.

Right now the only guy we’ve lost from last year that in my opinion is worth shedding tears over is Bryce Thompson. I think we’ll potentially be a better football team without the rest of the guys now gone and other than Bryce I make no other exceptions, at all. jmo.

So who was the leader of our offense last year? Whoever it was, they sucked. jmo.

Who was the leader of our offensive line unit last year? Whoever it was, they sucked. jmo.

Who was the leader of our defense last year? Whoever it was, they sucked. jmo.

I’ve had jobs before where I was brought in to take over a leadership role because the guy before me sucked. Now as an individual talent I’m probably not somebody you’re going to write home about but by empowering and uniting the personnel in the organization in a commitment to shared objectives and standards within weeks our team is rocking and rolling and the pride of the corporation. jmo.

That’s true; I’m not exaggerating that. It happened in the Navy and a number of times in the corporate world and I facilitated that. It is one of the very few things in life that I was good at. All of the success I enjoyed in my professional life was due to the combined efforts of others. All I had to do was bring donuts on Friday mornings. jmo.

We could probably enjoy more success right now if we sort of tried to go the Iowa State route than if we tried to emulate Alabama or Georgia. jmo.

You honestly think he can develop better at Tennessee than in an NBA program.... He will be drafted on potential right now..... they could quit viewing him as a potential star at any time.

Like you said they could quit viewing him as a potential star at any time. A year in and he's not getting it they're very likely to give up on him. Do I think he could be develop better no, but can he be developed sure. Right now Keon probably wouldn't play much at all his first year. Would he develop more riding the bench or playing games in college?
