Grady would be a great fit. Watched him for 4 years. Didnt know he was in portal. Think his stats would be even better if didnt have to log so many minutes. Then, again, I wouldn't mind seeing him take a fifth year at Davidson

No, he’s actually graduated so even if the one time rule didn’t pass he would still be immediately eligible with 2 years remaining.

not sure he’d even consider us and may stay out west since he went to high school in AZ, but this guy would be a dream get.

What about what he did as a freshman in the ACC?

2017-18 (Freshman - Pitt)
• Ranked second in the ACC in three-point field goal percentage (.425) in conference play, knocking down 2.7 trifectas per contest (fifth-best mark in the league).
• Ranked second on Pitt’s squad in scoring in ACC play at 10.8 points per game while playing in all 32 games with 20 starts in 2017-18.
• Overall, he averaged 9.1 points per game while sinking 38.6 percent of his 3-point attempts (71-for-184).
• Shot an even 80 percent (40-of-50) from the free throw line and hauled in 3.3 rebounds over 26.2 minutes per contest.
• Set a new school record for most 3-pointers by a freshman (71) and notched 16 double-digit scoring performances including a 23-point outburst at Syracuse.
• 2018 All-ACC Academic Men’s Basketball Team.

Both are needs but to me both are behind a PG. We suspect Chandler can play that role but we don’t yet know that for sure as we’ve been told that before. Plus, the kid can’t play every minute.

The game has evolved. Generally speaking, if you aren’t jacking 25-30 3s a game and hitting 10+ of them then you’re going to be at a disadvantage, at least that’s my perception. Maybe when I get a little time I’ll do some digging to see if that’s reality.

You have to bank on Chandler being that guy...you aren’t going to convince a great starting PG transfer to come here knowing Chandler is as well. I think you ideally find a guy who can play 1 or 2 and can shoot the ball at a high level so it kind of covers both bases.

As long as the kid can truly handle the ball. We seem to struggle with that most years. This year we were a terrible ball handling team. Some of that was youth at positions handling the ball a lot but even V wasn’t a great dribbler. Most teams had to feel like they could turn us over pretty easily.

We will see if Gonzaga can win their way. Obviously, the key is hitting the threes. Some nights, teams won’t be doing that.

He’s the #1 PG in the country. That’s what he’s coming to UT to do.

Well we didn’t have a true PG it turned out, by all accounts Chandler is the best PG in the country and was coveted my every program to run their team next year.

They’re definitely the exception but they’re also way more talented than most teams and they play smart basketball. I hope it’s either them or Loyola, assuming Oral Roberts won’t win.

So he’s a legit PG then? I haven’t had a chance to really watch him. I hope he is a true PG. I’m just skeptical because I’ve heard that about other recruits.

The game has evolved for sure!..but Barnes Philosophy hasn’t,hes still playing old school basketball that requires a dominant paint threat.he loves doing that even if he doesn’t have it.Faulky was a late bloomer and finally grew into the role after Admiral and Grant left..But behind Faulky we had no one and it showed in the Tourney.Barnes has badly misused players that could have taken us farther in the tournament if he would have just adapted his offense to what he had at the time.this team has shooters but when you play all game working the ball outside in,instead of inside out you really can’t expect a shooter to have any kind of rhythm which explains why we have never really been able to shoot.

If you want to blame Barnes for no big men then you have a legitimate argument because I blame him for recruiting failures in the post.

It's a terrible take on offensive strategy. There was no outside-in or inside-out with this team because there were no post threats. The average threat we did have was hurt - Fulky. Pons was not a true post threat and anybody else didn't or couldn't help because they had no respect from the other team. And I'm not sure what you mean by inside out when we struggled to gain good post position. Your assumption assumes the post player had the ball, could possibly score so the other team respected that but then kicked out good passes for plays just standing for an open 3 or to drive to carve up the defense.

Lol at fans continuing on with this nonsense notion that our offense is outdated, we run the same motion offense that most every NBA/College runs in some variation or you consider Duke’s offense outdated too. You can argue that Rick didn’t have a lot of set plays but how much of that was hindered by new players and less practice time this year?

Seems like a really smart move by coaches wanting to add future NBA players to their roster to run an offense that resembles what the NBA teams run.
