The Atlanta Braves

Super late to this party but having worked multiple 3rd shift jobs, the things that have helped me sleep are:

- Make sure you have the correct mattress/pillow for your sleeping position/sleeping temperature
- Turn on any filters on your phone/laptop/tablet that filter out blue light as early as you can
- Don't watch any screens at all at least 30 minutes before bed
- Melatonin usually helps but helps more if you work at night imo
- Make room as dark and as cool as possible
- Stay hydrated and keep bedtime as consistent as possible
- Take care of as much stuff as possible so you don't go to bed with a bunch of crap on your mind.

I’ve never been a great sleeper at night, even though I can sleep most anywhere/anytime. Room has to be cool, my feet have to be comfy, and there has to be some kind of background noise, be it music or something on TV with a lot of dialogue.

So it’s funny you mention that. I read at work a lot. Rarely on screens. I will start head-bobbing from dozing off and I gotta walk around. But as soon as my cheeks hit my Serta, it doesn’t work. I’ve been off of nights over 2 years now but I think my body still creates some adrenaline to help me through the night when I no longer need it. I love reading now though.

I think that's my biggest issue. Worked nights for 7 years. Been on days for 1.5 years now and my body still wants to stay on night night shift schedule of staying up at night. Not sure I'll ever fully adjust

My wife put an essential oils thing in our room to help me sleep. I’ve tried everything but nothing seems to help me get consistent sleep. Because TNS never sleeps.

You ever had neuro sleep?? They’re drinks. I chug one before bed and it usually knocks me out.

A few weeks ago I resorted to listening to ASMR videos. Most of them just seem dumb to me but I found a channel devoted to barber shops and for some reason it knocks me out in minutes.
