That sucks about Salter. I think we all saw it coming, but I hate to see our potential future starting QB behaving like that. It was good to hear that leaders are emerging. Accountability seems to be a common thread with this unit. It also seems (way to early on to tell) that the chemistry among the staff is much better. I am just really glad that Pruitt is no longer the face of my team!

Live now in progress

Nothing like winning games but Hype is definitely a positive person. Generally people want to follow genuinely positive people which is a plus. Butch was a bit “too used car salesman”, Pruitt a perfectionist is some aspects that made him try to do everyone’s job...
You could tell it bothered Hype talking about Salter because it was on his watch. Didn’t bother him a bit to talk about kids that were not there by their choice... Good to have a head coach that has a grasp of the English language. Something that bothered me from day one about our former school teacher head coach...

I guess that answers who the unnamed minor was a couple of weeks ago when the other guys were named in the arrest. We just can't seem to have good things around here. Hopefully, these guys learned a valuable lesson and will continue to contribute to this team going forward.
Back when we were elite..... it wasn’t called the fulmer cup for no reason..... maybe we are on our way back? LOL

Not sure how there’s an argument for fan apathy for a new staff that we have yet to see but has some proven success on its resume, unless you would rather see Pruitt and his staff still here getting blown out by Arkansas.
Especially since everybody was screaming for a new coach. We got what we asked for.

Scientists say BVS can span across the space-coach-time continuum.

Because JH isnt a household big fish name. Ive got some friends who basically bought in that TN was getting someone from the A+ tier. Cristobal, Fleck, Fitzgerald etc... and once Heupel was announced they checked out because they assume he is another same ole same ole.

First off those guys sound bandwagon. Plus the argument is more so about if that type of fan apathy is anywhere close to the fan apathy if Fulmer got his way and we kept Pruitt for another year. The answer to that is a resounding no...

So let’s build a team to operate a scheme that has a ceiling of 4 or 5 conference wins per year, knowing that to take the next step we’ll have to bring in someone else to tear it all down to the foundation and rebuild for a higher ceiling. No thanks. The roster we have now is far better than what Pruitt inherited in 2018 particularly in the trenches, although it will start going backwards if CJH doesn’t make good use of it and start recruiting at an acceptable level. There is no excuse for anyone not named Pruitt to not to win 7 regular season games this year with our schedule and current roster.
Not sure how you got that first part out of my post about wanting to tear it down, but all I’m saying is I think with this scheme we will put up enough points to where most likely 2/3rds of the schedule won’t be able to match it and we’ll be around an 8-4 team at least year in, year out. That’s just my opinion. I meant let’s get to that point first then we can raise expectations of competing with the big boys in the conference for championships. If we are 5-6 years in and we’ve not beaten one of our big 3 rivals then yes I could see them moving on. But the point was my opinion is 8-4 should be the floor once he gets a couple of years to get the system in place and rebuild some depth. I do agree with you that the guys we have here are more talented than any first year coach we’ve had since kiffin so I could see 7-5. If the roster shapes up before fall I could see 8-4 this year as I don’t see why we should ever lose to Kentucky or Missouri which are 2 of my toss up games this year. But I’m not going to set myself up for major disappointment by having that as an expectation in year 1.

Seen that quite a bit too.

Weird combination of absurd expectations while the NCAA is at your door after a 3-win season and 12+ years of dysfunction (makes me think of the delusional "we're getting Campbell!" crowd) along with far underestimating the coach we did get ("he lost more games each year!") without doing the research which should make any Vol fan very excited.

On that point no, Its nowhere close.
I can promise they arent bandwagon, a few had season tickets. Most likely theyll be back on board ish when football season rolls around.

Ive got a general idea of what I think will happen with JH, but overall im trying to go into this season without any expectations besides one. That one is to score points.
