That's not how construction works.Hmmm. So if my partner books an all-inclusive trip around the world for 20K, I learn of it and think it's a waste of money and cancel it for a fee of $2000, did I save or waste money?
You signed a contract for 20k. You then pay 2k to put a pause on it. You are still on the hook for 20k. Plus the 2k that you pay out indefinitely.
And then you will pay another 2k to start it back up, plus damages, and probably an escalation fee for increased cost. Some scope change because of fixes to the incomplete work from before. A redesign because of wanted improvements over the 4 years.
So in the end you will pay out at least 40 or 50k for a 20k contract. The wall builders love this. Anyone looking to make money for not working needs to be a private contractor for the Fed. It's great.
@hog88 can probably fill in a few more fees this will cost the US taxpayer for your 2k pause I forgot.
