They are a really good team. I’ve watched more games this year than I ever have. I hope they make a run in the college world series. That is a very underrated tournament. Second to March Madness in terms of high drama, highly unpredictable outcomes.

...College football’s playoff where every game is a lopsided blowout due to insurmountable talent disparities is a far distant third...

I agree for the most part. Highly competitive in the CWS. And to pick up on the revenue discussion - baseball is headed toward revenue positive in the SEC and some other areas of the country. Some programs already are. LSU sells out most home games as an example. They averaged 10.6+ K per game for the four seasons leading up to COVID 2020. The SEC is dominating baseball like they do football. The parks are getting bigger with more amenities. Concession sales go up especially when beer sales are allowed. UT will be playing in the new Smokies Park and attract a great deal more fans in a few years. Once the programs go revenue positive as a rule they need to increase the number of scholarships and give more free rides instead of covering for other non-revenue sports. It's past time for most of those sports to be club level.

Women's training room should be nowhere near what the men's is, based on the money brought in; BUT...it should be 100x better than what they got. It's disgraceful, and those ladies deserve much better. NCAA better be glad Pat Summitt is not still around.
Lol, if Pat was around there would be a much better workout facility.

I'm not saying it isn't unfair and outrageous. That doesn't change the fact that women's college basketball is not a huge revenue earner. The biggest and best thing these people can do is to find ways to put butts in seats and generate that revenue. That's just a sad fact. I actually enjoy watching the women play, but most people do not. We were very spoiled to have a true legend as a coach for so many years.
I couldn’t care less about what equipment they are providing for the players but it’s not men versus women. It’s the NCAA, who makes money off colleges like Don King made off boxers. They can put some equipment in there. All real businesses spend money on amenities and that loss is made up in the rates consumers are charged.

Probably not a men versus women, in fact I believe it isn’t at all, but how do you think the difference might look to those women athletes? Optics.

A lot of these women are really sharp. They know it's not a men vs. women thing, but making it about that puts a bigger spotlight on it.

if it's truly about money, then ncaa should sell out just reach out to Golds Gym make it. Powerbar Women's NCAA Tournament Bubble Workout Facility Sponsored by Gold's Gym.

Diagnosing the cause is not he same as pointing fingers, placing blame, whining, and wallowing in victimhood. Been a program builder and problem solver my whole life, bud.
So have I dude! So why don`t you tell us SPECIFICALLY what the problem was and SPECIFALLY how to fix it bud! We are all waiting ...

Personally, I will be laughing my ass off when that happens. People oversimplify this issue to such an extreme. Whatever solution is implemented, there will be unforeseen and unintended consequences and someone - most likely the smaller sports and women’s sports - will come out as a loser and worse off.
Liked for the bolded part. Just like the CFB playoffs being better than BCS which was better than the AP and UPI poll systems (or whatever). Shortsightedness to fix a perceived immediate problem almost always brings more and different problems to be fixed on down the road.

Again, not about revenue. I agree with it. I think the WNBA is an awful product. But, in this instance, it was a slap in the face to the athletes who have worked very hard all year in a very challenging environment. I have to believe the women's tournament makes the NCAA some money. They could have and should have done much better.

I completely agree that what they got was incredibly stupid, and I completely agree that money cannot justify it. I'm just moving to the next phase of the discussion where the knee jerk is claiming that anything shy of full equivalence between MBB and WBB is unacceptable. That's where money becomes a factor.
