Again, not about revenue. I agree with it. I think the WNBA is an awful product. But, in this instance, it was a slap in the face to the athletes who have worked very hard all year in a very challenging environment. I have to believe the women's tournament makes the NCAA some money. They could have and should have done much better.
The report from the wal street journal stated the women’s tournament runs in the negative and isn’t self sufficient.

Did the roach coach ever come when you were in the field. Food truck before food trucks were cool.
I worked in the hospital at a research base. We didn’t do many mobilization exercises. MRE’s and they cooked breakfast for the masses.

Tried tuning into the lady vols for a second. First thing I hear is Holly Rowe and some other lady bitc**** about the women not having equitable facilities compared to the men. If you had an equitable product, they would invest the same amount of money. They should be thankful for what they have.

Hate to say it, but that's just the truth of the matter, and no one wants to own it. They'd rather scream "misogyny!". It has nothing to do with misogyny. The men generate so much more revenue than the ladies do. If they want to complain, their ire should be directed more at fans who don't attend games and help them be a real revenue sport. If so-called "activists" want to make a difference, tell them to buy tickets. When ladies' basketball catches up to men's in revenue, then they'll have a legit misogyny argument if unequal treatment continues, but until then, it's all about the money. And I say that as someone who enjoys watching the Lady Vols play. I was at UT when Lady Vol games were much more entertaining than watching the guys lose. The inequality is not about gender, it's about revenue.
C’mon Weezer - did you see the rack of weights and the yoga mats these D-1 athletes had? That was it! Even if money is an issue, and you and I both know it isn’t an issue with the NCAA, any good marketing person could get some company (like maybe Dick‘s Sporting Goods) to donate in exchange for free advertising. This was absolutely pitiful and disappointing. I’m very proud of the class and dignity our Lady Vols and all the Lady BB teams handled this situation. I appreciate the Lady Ducks for the way those players brought it to the attention of social media.

My other issue is that they knew the difference would be made public and went with the suck it up attitude.

Since Rick Barnes sucks now and deserves to be fired, how about we look at other coaches that deserve to be fired for losing

Tony Bennett - Terrible coach
Brad Underwood - Trash
Chris Holtmann - Bad
Matt Painter - Bad
Mike Krzyzewski - Awful
John Calipari - Terrible
Bruce Pearl -
Bad
Shaka Smart - Really bad (he is bad, imo)

These are the coaches that deserve to be fired for either losing to a lower seed (not meeting expectations) or not making the tourney. Based off yalls comments the other night.

I sure hope we can compete with these schools for a new, young coach LOL

Fair enough - let the employees make their own money through NIL and don’t put limits on it. Free market. We like that here in the USA, right?

And to the statement of cutting sports - pretty much every sport besides football and some men’s bball and maybe women’s bball at every school would have to go. Baseball is a non revenue generating sport and its one of the “big 3”. So it wouldn’t just be women’s sports.
I agree. The only sports that would ultimately survive at the college level are football and men's basketball, but I was trying to be nice and not just come out and say that. Very few schools turn a profit or break even with women's basketball. There wouldn't be enough competition left to warrant keeping it. And that is just a sad truth.

I'm not saying it isn't unfair and outrageous. That doesn't change the fact that women's college basketball is not a huge revenue earner. The biggest and best thing these people can do is to find ways to put butts in seats and generate that revenue. That's just a sad fact. I actually enjoy watching the women play, but most people do not. We were very spoiled to have a true legend as a coach for so many years.

Baylor will win tournament

I can't say that I have seen a lot of them this year, but my impression is that they are on a level above everyone else. It's basketball. So, anything can happen, but that would be my odds on favorite, and it's not even close.

Talk about doing more with less... what a well coached, confident bball team... Yeah, at this point I hate to say it, but the Loyola coach is doing something right that Barnes isn't... can you imagine the Loyola coach with our talent... sheesh. Tell Barnes he can go to UCLA and we'll grab Porter Moser... ALL DAY... talk about getting the most out of your talent... let him coach football too...
he does do more with less.
