Catbone’s most likely response: Nate Oats who walked into a veteran laden team (let’s see how he does next year without them unless he bolts to a blue blood school for a pay raise Bama is going to have to pony up to keep him)

Some mid major coach in the tourney right now because those are always sure things 🙄

Both of which are complete risks compared to what we have especially with how Rick Barnes recruits

2018 we had a cake walk to the Final 4

But Loyola Chicago.

This year the one seed in our bracket gonna fall. 2-3 seeds are beatable.

I believe Oklahoma St would have been a very difficult game for us.

Oh well

But why? We stepped up recruiting. We can pay. We have the facilities. We have the fan base. Success vs Kentucky and Florida. What don't we have, historical success? And why would that matter?

Who is this mythical coach you’re gonna get to replace him?

It matters bc the guys you prob want are gonna keep one foot out the door and wait for a better opportunity. They’ll jump at a UCLA like Barnes tried to, an Indiana, UK, hell a FL, Duke, UNC.

You have to overpay bc like it or not UT is not a destination for coaches

This...although Indiana basketball is starting to turn into Nebraska/Tennessee football if they don’t finally find the right coach. It has been a revolving door of coaches for awhile now

Isn't that what was said when Martin got fired ? Then Tn went out and got Barnes. How is the basketball program all of a sudden toxic?

Got TYNDALL first and it got even funner. Makes Barnes accomplishments here even more impressive. We were bottom rung when he took on this toxic mess.

Well we got Donnie Tyndall then Barnes. Timing for Barnes was perfect. I don’t think the program is toxic at all.

If you fire Barnes you might give that impression to coaches across the country. He had us ranked number one. Has recruited with the best.

Barnes isn’t going anywhere. Really not sure why this is a topic. I can see him retiring in 3-4 years.

Yeah. Rick could not make the tournament for the next 3 years and still not get fired. He's here as long as he wants to be.
