Tempo is all about defense. I don’t think we suddenly decided to change our offense. When you turn it over and can’t get stops, you can’t play your offensive game. I was discussing this in the game thread after the first half of Saturday- we got 34 shots in the first half because we had 7 offensive rebounds and Bama had 12 turnovers. I think Bama only had 5 turnovers in the second half.
Tempo is not all about defense. It’s a philosophy. Just look at Roy Williams teams when they are at their best. They’ll score within 3s of either a miss + rebound or a make + inbounds. We were more tentative in the second half, and that was partly due to the refs calling every flop a charge, but it’s not like we’ve been the aggressor on offense all season either.

Springer is a good candidate to learn the euro step. He's not a blazer, but can get near the basket (8-10 ft) really well. If he could utilize the euro, he would be even more dangerous. Thinking of Ginobili, Harden, etc.
I agree he’s got the strength and natural skills to be a fantastic finisher but he needs to work on some new moves now that he can’t just beat every high schooler with a blow by

According to the rivals database we currently have 354 offers out to 2022 prospects. Open the link below and click on search and it will give you a list of those prospects. Obviously most of those offers likely came from the previous staff. I don't know of an easy way to differentiate between staffs. Hope this helps.

Rivals.com

edit - this works on my PC but I checked it on my Iphone and the search data doesn't transfer. Rivals has a database that you can search for offers by school. You can probably figure it out from there if the link doesn't work for you.
Thank you!

Do I think Payne deserves some kind of suspension? Yes. Do I think it serves UT's interests to push it? No. Throw your weight around when it means something.
Again, what does it get UT? How does this benefit us in anyway? It doesn't. Save your collateral for when it actually benefits you.

It’s not just about benefiting us. It’s about standing up for your own who just got blatantly assaulted. This wasn’t a back handed face slap, it could have resulted in major long term injury. He had emergency surgery and is missing games.

Oh well, DW can’t make them do anything so he might as well not even try. We’re rolling over and showing our belly because we’re a beta school with a milquetoast AD.

I am not aggravated at them..you are misunderstanding me. I am aggravated at the situation and what is going to happen to the program next year..the Barnes bitch brigade will go off next year in full throat.

I don't blame the two kids for cashing a lottery ticket, and I swear Fulky looked to me like he has been hurting pretty bad pretty much all year. Pons is what he is, he was never going to be a scorer, I just don't think that is ever going to be one of his talents.

Those two kids would be really good and I believe the team would be really good next year with the guys coming in and whole real offseason together...but that is not happening unfortunately..it is what it is.
I agree that it would seem to be hard on the team chemistry with the one and dones. And I'm not a big fan of it either. But a couple of positives I take from it: to the point earlier, we never did really gel, so I don't see us losing some magical multi-year run because of them alone. Secondly, and I could be wrong about this because it is only speculation, but I would like to think the culture Barnes has built, his attitude, his style, his values, etc., is much more tolerant of that kind of thing.

Eh, sure. But our team’s tempo is based on defense. I like a team to run but not jacking up a shot 3 seconds after a make. It can be counter-productive at a point. As Wooden said, “Be quick, but don’t hurry.” But our shots were up in the first half against Bama because our defense was fantastic. Same against UF.

Roy Williams' teams are an extreme example. I think it could be argued that the offensive philosophy we've implemented for most of the season has been 'counter-productive.' I'd rather us push the ball with our small, athletic line up and get more easy lay ups and alley oops to Pons. Barnes makes offensive basketball harder than it needs to be.

What do you expect him to do? Get on national TV and campaign for a suspension? You really think that would be a good look?
