I did hear this as the explanation for why much of Indiana refused to go on daylight savings for so long - the cows just know 24 hours betweenI was told its the farmers that were whining
I dunno, it started back in WWII. It might have been a factor though. It still seems like the delay in turning on lights at the end of the day is canceled by having to turn them on earlier in the morning, but maybe people just started sleeping in.Does this sound familiar? It was during the energy crisis, and it would help save on electricity.
something about needing extra daylight to plant in the Spring - my moms relatives owned like 8 farms years ago -- anyway the brilliant politicians in Illinois are trying to make it permanant ( no Fall back)I never heard "because the farmers were whining". I've known a bunch of farmers in my life, my uncle was the very definition, and I've never heard a farmer whine.
You’re already programmed by years of getting up early for children and work rules.I dunno, it started back in WWII. It might have been a factor though. It still seems like the delay in turning on lights at the end of the day is canceled by having to turn them on earlier in the morning, but maybe people just started sleeping in.
Now that I’m retired, I just get up with the sun, whenever that might be.
