There's a spot in Coalfield beside the Dollar General that'd be a great place for a Pal's....but apparently they don't franchise so I don't know how the f to put one there and make all the monies.

I knew a couple of gals that worked nights at our local one back in the day. They would come over after closing with a sack full of chicken and biscuits about 3 times a week. I think I gained 20 lbs during that period!
Did they also have Dolly Parton sized breasts?

Brian Jean-Mary

I was very excited when we landed Henry To’o To’o in the 2019 signing class and even more excited when I saw his athleticism in the fall camp videos that August. Here’s the thing though, after Daniel Bituli left and Henry had to take over the QB duties for the defense we ended up with the worst defense that we’ve had in at least the past 12 years. How does that happen? I mean the QB is supposed to provide some leadership right? Make everyone on his side of the ball better? smh.

In all fairness to Henry, Pruitt did run off his linebacker coach and figured he could get by with Brian Niedermeyer handling the job. I think Pruitt probably planned to help Brian out but he was already coaching some of the DBs, supposedly. Then he fires his DL coach the 2nd game into the season and now we’re down to 3 assistant coaches on the defensive side or maybe not even that from a qualification standpoint. Pruitt is the ultimate, if you want a job done right or 5 jobs, you do it yourself. What a cluster****. jmo.

I don’t want to be too hard on Henry because the truth is if anyone would have listened to me after the Georgia State debacle we would be maybe 2 years ahead of where we are right now. But no, Fulmer will help out behind the scenes. We can’t afford for Pruitt to fail. smh. (This paragraph is just me being a smart ass) lol

Can anyone really blame Henry for considering a better development opportunity elsewhere? I mean he has his own life and career ambitions and we completely and royally screwed him over. I think he would be justified in feeling that way, if he does. jmo.

So now we have 2 new linebacker coaches to rebuild our room and on behalf of our beloved university regain the respect, trust, and confidence of the young men who have elected to stay on board with us, but, given the nature of the ILB position and it’s criticality to the whole of the defense, I think it’s Jean-Mary who is the man of the hour for this crisis moment. jmo.

I’m still digging into Brian’s career history and I still have some questions, like why did he interview with Urban Meyer and the Jags after only one year at UM. Did he just not like it up there? I’ve lived in Ann Arbor. I liked it. Well, for 15 months. I guess he and I have about the same tenure there. I suspect that the Jags didn’t want to spend a half-million dollars or whatever to buy out his UM contract. No problem with us here at Tennessee, we have FU money. lol

So here is what the folks up north had to say about Brian’s departure:

Clearly Brian is a top recruiter but I'm also interested in his coaching prowess. So far I've got that while on Strong's staff at Louisville, coaching linebackers, the Cardinals had the #1 defense in the nation their last year there. I don't figure you can do that without good linebacker play. jmo.

Nice dig, bud.

To me, the first warning of bad things to come was when Henry T was allowed/encouraged/whatever to report at 225 lbs. or so. Your stud ILB is going to report with a SS body? Nah. The next warning was Nieds moving to coach them. No proven experience at it. The next after that was who lined up beside him - two guys who should have been good RB's who were lost at the position. Even if Henry T knew what to do and could get guys lined up right in the front 6 or 7, there was nobody who knew how to play SEC football around him. So he basically ran around with his hair on fire looking like a goober all season. Bituli is the guy that helped make Henry T his freshman year.

Can Henry T recover from all that - of course. Maybe he thinks the change of scenery will help. He better hope he gets treated well at the new place because he will have to stand out among other talent that already knows the system he will be learning. Or he can show up here at SP and know he is a starter with new coaches who have proven they could do it at other spots.

IDK, but a guess would be that Jean-Mary had enough of Harbaugh along with his tenuous future in Ann Arbor. Being able to start fresh at UT with proven guys like Banks and Garner along with a nice deal would be very enticing if he failed to land a spot he wanted in the NFL. Banks has also coached ILB's in his past, so Jean-Mary has some good back-up that sells with the recruits as well. All of the D-coaches know that with a prolific O like CJH brings, they will not have to be perfect at their jobs for a couple of years while they recruit and develop talent. At Michigan the scenario is much different.

Henry T doesn't want to be at UT. The other players are enrolled and going through workouts. Everyone has been through a lot, it's a period of adjustment and some players aren't sure where-- or if-- they fit in now. So they'll go through spring football and see how it goes.

It takes time to rebuild trust, and the more bonding with the team, the better. Sometimes, it's just broken, and those guys will leave.

Tennessee may still be trying to determine eligibility status. As long as he isn’t a drain on the team doesn’t hurt anything. He may not have a landing spot...and he’s trying not to burn bridges.
Looks like the coaches aren’t chasing HT at all. He is probably waiting on the determination of the one time transfer rule...He may not be allowed to come back, ineligible at UT would be my assumption.
Just perusing yesterday's posts and I think this could be a very good reason why we lost a bunch of our best players to the transfer portal from the jump. We don't know what the ruling will be for those who were found to have been given inadmissible benefits. Probably ineligible to play at UT this coming year.

Just saw these on Rivals. SIAP

I know I keep saying this, but one of the coaches heavily recruiting Vols transfer linebacker
Henry To’oto’o
finally told me it’s probably a done deal for Alabama. The talented linebacker from Northern California will finish classes at Tennessee and move on to Bama unless there is a stunning change of heart.

Former four-star recruit and Vols linebacker
Quavaris Crouch
, like many in the portal, has been very quiet about schools of interest, but I’m hearing that Michigan State is doing an amazing job with him and showing him how he fits its scheme. That’s where I expect him to end up, unless he has a change of heart and sticks with Tennessee.

GROSS. How could you. Well, I guess I can understand, but what position is he going to play there? He's not going to take over for the MonStars that have at LB.

A good number of the players who've already portaled were very unhappy at UT and vocal about it. The biggest reason-- chronic losing and the unrelenting negativity and derision it brings. A few just wanted more PT elsewhere. Some felt misled. But mostly, the mass exodus was unhappy people taking their unhappiness elsewhere.

The feelings mutual with Henry T as far as I'm concerned.

He's the poster boy for a shift from team-first to me-first in CFB. He's all about his own goals and advancement, with little loyalty to his teammates or the team. You have to have that healthy balance where everyone's pulling together and players thrive when the team thrives.

He's a hired hit man that saw his money dry up and looked for a place where's its more mainstream to play for pay. He won't be a huge loss for us and he won't be a huge gain for Bama.

The Bama system isn't going to work for UT. Neither is the UGA, LSU, Clemson or OSU systems. UT's old system no longer works, and we haven't found a new one. We'll flounder until we do.

Evidently there are long lasting effects.

What do you mean?
