Jaylen Wright
One of the things I’m told is that we haven’t really improved our athletic performance all that much over the past many decades as measure by the Olympics, not on an individual basis. While we’re continuing year after year to set new world records in all sorts of different competitive events, almost all of the improvement, specifically for timed events, has to do with improvements in the technology of the competition arena (track, pool, etc.) and improved selection for body type.
I saw a comparison between Michael Phelps and some track sprinter and while Phelps was reported at 6’3 the track sprinter was only 5’9. The thing is both had the same pants length. The point being made was that longer torsos and shorter legs are better for swimming while shorter torsos and longer legs are better for sprinting on the track.
When I watch Jaylen Wright run he reminds me of Josh Dobbs in that he doesn’t look as fast as he is. He seems to have a longer stride than the guys chasing him. It’s almost like he’s laughing at them as their little legs are pumping in overdrive and he’s on cruise control pulling away, not even working up a sweat. jmo.
I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do after he learns the offense and his protection assignments. It should be fun. jmo.
