The longer they wait the more they’re going to build up the expectations. If the first commit happens to be a 2 or 3* people gonna freak. If they have an ace in the hole 4* at any position they need to get him to commit ASAP.

Y'all think if we didnt have the NCAA cloud of doom over us, we would already have a few guys committed? Or is it just because this staff is still so new?

I’m not sure if we would have many/any but I also wouldn’t be concerned if not for the NCAA. This is going to be a tough cycle. Our best hope is to get word from the NCAA by the start of the season.

That guy to the right of Pearl is a kid I grew up with. Little known fact, for a while (and maybe still to this day) he was the winningest player in UT men's bball history. Never started a game, but was on the team 5 years during that era, so he technically had more wins than anyone else ever had.

I don't see why everybody is having such a come apart over these verbal commitments. We had two kids commit somewhere else. They have not signed anything, they will still be recruited and it isn't a done deal. Ask yourself how many sure things have we had over the last 20 years only for them to go somewhere else. It has happened every year in the past and will happen from now own. It's all about who they have been talking to and how long they've been talking, things can change and probably will before it is all said and done.

AV always leaked stuff right before media picked up. They were all wrong a lot lately. Wouldn’t be surprised and always thought he was just a local media guy with a made up persona. Never thought it was legit no matter how many of you complain about it.

We had to let my little buddy go a little over a year ago, hardest thing I've ever done. Just remember you don't choose a dog they choose you. They know what you need and when you'll need it long before you ever will. They each have a special purpose, they know what that purpose is, they do their job and when it's time to go they trust that you will know it's time as well. They will never leave you and they know that they weren't just your dog but a part of your family. The greatest thing of all is that they know you were their human and that can never be taken away.

This year's recruiting class could truly suck, but if it does, I think it's more about Pruitt and NCAA sanctions than it is about JH and his staff. They have to rebuild relationships, deal with the negativity left behind behind the last staff, and fight through an NCAA investigation over something they had nothing to do with. Not an easy task in one recruiting cycle. We'll see what happens.
