Callahan responding to a poster saying Ty grew up a lifelong UT fan...

Lol.

“This kid is a UT fan, huh?”

“Sure...

Kid is gonna go for the sure thing as far as already established .. he is not interested in getting TN rebuilt ... now I am a lifelong TN fan growing up here ..NO WAY IN HELL would I go anywhere else other than TN .. down or not ..facing bowl ban or not ... but kids are different now ..even though he says he grew up Vol fan .. he has no allegiance to TN ..like I do ... so when the kid selects Bama or Clemson ..wish him well ..move on to kids that want to be here .. and coach them up ..we have capable QB's here already go get someone who you think is next in line and get him.. dont get all bent out of shape when kid chooses someone else .. wish him the best when not playing Vols ...

Yeah, that is what I was getting at working on the assumption that UT lands Horn if they miss on Simpson. Having Simpton or Horn committed puts UT in the same place as far as helping recruit other players because we have a high ranked QB commitment. So the only real difference, from a recruiting perspective, is how much does the prior relationship Simpson has with a few of the other UT recruits help with UT's recruitment of them. Horn does not have a 4 year personal relationship with Dallas Hayden but Simpson does. But ultimately how much does having Simpson committed, compared to Horn, help with those other Tennessee recruits? I don't think we really know the answer to that question. I certainly don't buy into the doom and gloom that if Simpson goes to Clemson/Alabama and UT lands Horn instead, that UT has no shot to get the other Tennessee recruits.
i don't think anyone is putting Horn and Simpson together in the equation for what affect it has on in state TN recruits. of course it's different.

the original point was that landing simpson was going to "bring" all these other guys with him. that's not really accurate. having the relationships is a given, that's why it would be a good thing. it enhances the staff's position when talking to the other in state guys.

it doesn't mean that simpson is bringing anyone.

it was presented as if all these other guys are going to go where TS goes...and they're just waiting around to get the go ahead.....

Like who believed that all these coaches contacted Clay Travis, of all people, to express interest in the UT job. Like Clay was involved in the search somehow 🤦🏻‍♂️
Lane Kiffin told Clay Travis he wanted the job and Clay Travis turned that into "Many high level coaches want this job."

Yeah I definitely do not think that is the case either. Simpson going to UT does not guarantee all those other recruits. It's helps. Could even be the final deciding factor for 1 or 2 of them when rubber meets the road. But I don't see it as automatic. Just like I also don't think Simpson choosing Clemson/Alabama automatically means UT won't get commitments from any of those other Tennessee recruits. That is ridiculous too.

more upset that there's no Volquest Bluewater Climate Control Free Air Handler Giveaway Spring Special Podcast: Mailbag Edition than I am we lose this guy.

Pre-Madonna.
No fan of Bluewater Climate Control.I bought a unit from them and Jeremy told me he was going to file for a $375 rebate for me on the unit I bought.Found out he never did and that is fact.

Freeze's offense can work against good-to-great SEC defenses. Hoople's won't. Not gonna argue about it. Watch and see.
Whe are you all gonna realize TN was never gonna hire Freeze ... they are not in a position too period ... if he hadnt had the issues in recruiting and off field .. then YES bring him on ... but how someone honestly thinks TN was in a position to hire someone with that past issues over his head .. come on .. really .. sure he deserves to be forgiven but not now at this time ...

“Last season, the Tigers led the Southeastern Conference in yards per game with an average of 500.5. Missouri ranks No. 7 in the country in total offense this year, and the Tigers are averaging 39.3 points per game”

........ I mean

It’s a similar O to what Ole Miss ran this year. Ole Miss averaged 39.2 ppg. Scored 48 vs Bama (the goodest of the good-to-great defenses in the SEC).

If that’s “not working”, sign me up.

Literally no school would touch Freeze this off-season but fans of the school who fired multiple coaches for violations thought their school should hire him 😆

well, in fairness, when at the height of the huhmors, i don't think anyone really knew how big a deal that investigation was going to wind up being, at least to the extent of the number and severity of the violations.....

at the time, it was fire pruitt for going 3-7 and losing every game by double digits.

in that regard, sure, bring in hugh.

as more information came to light about the investigation and just how bad it likely was, the hughmors died down quite a bit. didn't totally go away, but most kinda realized that if we're getting ready to fire a dude for multiple level 1 and 2 violations, no way you can bring Hugh in here....self included.

I posted plenty of “Freeze is coming” posts. Lots did and I agree I don’t think most actually wanted/thought UT would hire him.

But the ones who are still hanging onto that dream........

Clay also has a personal relationship with Freeze and Franklin so he was accurate that there were many interested. Unfortunately two of those were eliminated by default of our situation and their past and then Franklin got cold feet with the NCAA stuff
