This team has checked out. If Vandy hadn't had their regular compliment of players, the Vols would have lost.

Pathetic effort, yet everyone on here will be celebrating a “good win”. We were only up 4 with about 3 minutes left to a bunch of scrubs on a terrible team. This team just doesn’t seem to be able to pull out of this mid to late season swoon. Keep the cup on.

It is on the players! He wants dogs that bite!! He wants to run up and down the floor instead of this half court offense all the time. The seniors ain’t leading... Pons drive and dunk was it. Fulky got two scores in the paint. They need more intensity on offense. Barnes has plenty of issues. Example. Use a timeout when the team is out of focus. Their story isn’t done but you go ahead and bury them.

Interestingly Pearl was better in the same number of years at UT than Barnes.......

To say we struggled with this Vandy team is ridiculous.

We did, this was a close sloppy game all night. Logic should tell you, hey when this team beat them by 20 with their 2 good players, they should beat them by more without them. Moron you just proved my point for me. You will not criticize Barnes at all.

He’s just a volume shooter who scores a lot because he shoots a lot. He only hits 33.6% from three. He’s basically a white Victor Bailey. Actually, Bailey is shooting better than him from three.

Calling a spade a spade and criticizing the team is not wanting to run Barnes off, this team plays sloppy careless basketball. They go long spurts with looking like they have little energy, and for another year in the Barnes era teams bomb the crap out of us from deep. This team opened the season and ran 10-1 and it has been on the struggle bus since. Nowhere did I say Barnes needed to be fired, its an observation of what this team is. All that can be said, and I can still be glad to have Barnes.

Barnes is the worst coach ever and needs to be left at Vandy arena tonight!!! The sky is not only falling, but all over our players are being underdeveloped and we should have beaten Vandy by 63.7 points!!!! Why is our bench not getting more playing time over our 5 star players!?!?

His first post in the thread was about anti Barnes crowd. Not surprised. I am glad to have Barnes but he is not off limits.

Needs work. You failed to bring up CRB’s pay and that he tried to run off to UCLA. Also you didn’t mention wasted scholarships. Or misuse of time outs. And the substitution pattern. Also that he’s throwing players under the bus and won’t protect their fragile egos by taking the blame himself.

I don't understand why Olivier doesn't get more minutes, he looks like the most improved player on the team, imo. Walker not getting a chance even if he is more of perimeter player, he still seems to rebound and block shots, I just don't get it. Even if it's only walk-on minutes. Barnes has made some odd decisions this season and the team seems to be regressing. I just don't see why Barnes doesn't give Olivier and even Walker some run considering our defencies. I mean he gave Pember some run and I think if he stays until his senior year, he will contribute, some. But, not now, over Olivier

Primarily a 7 man rotation. They played 193 of 200 available minutes. Pember only played 3 minutes. He was probably practicing well this week.

I prefer rotating Pons and Fulk at the 5 with JJJ and Keon at the 4 spot. Pember, Anosike, and ORN have different skills and frames so I’d wager that the matchups dictate the philosophy with the rotations. Tonight Barnes might have wanted both Pember and ORN to get their feet wet in case he wanted to use both later in the game. Vandy was at a potential huge disadvantage if the refs turned the game into a whistle fest. They limited the frequency of calling fouls so the 2nd half was pretty much the 7-man rotation only.

Olivier looks good in short bursts right now which is better than earlier in the year when he’d make a bad mistake or two in his limited minutes. I’m cool with getting him in and then sitting him down before the inevitable mistakes happen. He probably does the same in practice... make a few back-to-back positive plays and then follow them up with mental lapses and defensive break downs.

How interesting you could almost insert Kellie Harper for Barnes and it would make sense as well

Pember is so out of his league when he’s in the game it’s comical. He should never see the court unless we are up or down by 20

What do you mean “ finally” a good coach? Pearl coaches circles around Barnes. Just check their head to head records, especially when it really matters , like Championship games.
