... and Joe Biden picked up 7 million more votes than Trump, and won the electoral college vote by a count of 306 to 232. Who cares if Trump received "more votes than any incumbent President in history"? That doesn't matter one damn bit. Also, you're assertion is incorrect that Trump was a horrible candidate. He picked up more votes than any incumbent President in history. His problem was, it wasn't enough to get outside the margin of fraud (and this isn't a blame the left deal, this happened in Red States whose leadership despised Trump - see AZ, GA, etc). The fraud was largely establishment GOP stabbing Trump in the back. They wanted him gone as much as the Left.
Trump lost 5 states that he had won in 2016 (Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia and Arizona) while failing to flip any of the states he had lost in 2016. There is nothing to indicate that Trump could ever beat a Democrat not named Hillary Clinton in the general election.Ahh, and somehow this horrible candidate got lots of new people to join the team evidently. Come on, stop with the cognitive dissonance.

That just shows the stupidity and desperation of the gopI didn't say it did other than the point of him being popular. Why are you taking that comment so hard?
It goes to show he wasn't a horrible candidate. Quite the opposite. Obama, the supposed most popular President in modern history, lost votes millions of votes between 2008 and 2012. If Trump ran today, he would wipe the floor with any GOP challenger including Romney, Bush or McCain if he were still alive. He is the most popular person in the GOP today and the second most popular would probably be Ron DeSantis or whomever Trump picks to be his successor.

Trump is very popular within the Republican Party, but in order to win a general election, he would have to be up against an incredibly weak Democrat. I really don't think he could beat anyone other than Hillary. The "socialist" label didn't stick to Biden very well.I didn't say it did other than the point of him being popular. Nothing worse than a bunch of republicans slobbering over a democrat.I didn't say it did other than the point of him being popular. Why are you taking that comment so hard?

That is comical. That looks good on paper, but when you dive into actual numbers you see there is a high likelihood he won 3 of those States and a decent chance he won the other 2. In a non-COVID non mail-in fraud election, Trump beats Biden and any Dem challenger, easily. Trump has a large diverse base of enthusiastic voters, what he doesn't have is political support, infrastructure or power. So when these States want to eff around with their elections, he has no way to stop it.
This idea that Trump is some magic voice of the people is amazing. He couldn't care less and is simply into the marketing which is about his only strength. That should have become obvious when it was time to actually lead something and he acquiesced to Fauci as the voice of his admin. Not to mention the outrageous debt he accumulated trying to please everyone. He lost because his own Party threw States to stab him in the back. Again, he isn't popular in the Republican Party. This is a myth. Most of the GOP leadership despise him, including many GOP Governors.
The GOP will not be competitive with the Left if they don't endorse and support the populist working class uprising Trump cultivated. McConnell and Cheney must be thrown overboard in a public fashion by the Party or all those millions of Trump voters go back in hiding and the GOP gets embarrassed across the board in 22.
How does one argue with this sort of logic? Smh. Whatever, dude. LOL.He lost because his own Party threw States to stab him in the back. Again, he isn't popular in the Republican Party. This is a myth. Most of the GOP leadership despise him, including many GOP Governors.

So do you want a guy whose only trait is getting elected once or do you want to find a leader who actually has some similar values? You think the gop base is made up of trumpers? On that I largely agree. He was a terrible politician in execution but he figured out how to tap into the growing resentment with not only DC but within the GOP itself. GW Bush and the Neocons killed the Party and Trump timed his emergence and message perfectly. Goes to show how much the GOP neglected their base that Trump could come in and become a God like hero. Is what it is.

Ron Paul = Donald Trump? All one has to do is study the Perot campaign and the Ron Paul Revolution to understand the growing resentment with Establishment GOP that festered for decades. Add that with moderates on the Left who were left behind by their Party too. Ron Paul was the release valve the GOP didn't allow to blow. By doing so, they now have only themselves to blame for Trump running their Party. Mitt Romney and John McCain as your Party flag bearers? Mitt Romney and John McCain????? And you wonder why Trump is running your Party now?

Trump does marketing. He does not do actions and is not a leader.
