I absolutely didn’t want Kiffin or Franklin. I was as not sure about Freeze. Didn’t really pay attention to his ole miss drama...

I am ecstatic with CJH. I think that he is the right type of coach (and person) to right our ship. Explosive offense, all around good guy (from all accounts); cannot wait to see the Orange and White game! I like the defensive staff hires. I like the fact that almost all of his offensive staff is still together as well. I also think that once this team can show out this Fall, that recruiting will come around as well.
Yep....and glad all those new people in here that argued with me for 24 hours about Franklin are gone.

With Martinez being a former DC and BJM also being a former DC I think either of those guys could coach any positional group they want.

Garner = DL we know, the other pieces may not be set until every hire is made. I was more excited for Lorig, but I'll be behind whoever they hire.

I worked at a liquor store in Chattanooga and we had a homeless man cut through the roof with a shovel and drop in. The ceiling was twelve feet high so he couldn't get out. next morning we saw him in there and called to Po-Po. Dude was trapped in a liquor store all night and only drank two pints of Evan Williams green label. Two shelves above it were Johnny Walker Blue, Weller Antique and Pappy 13yr and the guy didn't touch them. The property damage alone ensured the guy was going to jail I would've at least had a last hurrah.
Yep...... he should have partied it up.

Brumfield sounds like a good one and if it is the case we have a HC thst actually cares about special teams being a focus. Special teams coverage and return units were so poorly coached under Pruitt. That was one thing Butch was good at was the return/coverage game. Pruitt idiot wanted fair catches all the time instead of returns.

Do not care if Artis is unhappy or not. He should be lucky he was kept around. I doubt he has many opportunities with same title.

Imo Gray will regret leaving TN. Does Oklahoma run the ball? All I see them do is pass. I have wondered if he was encouraged to leave for his part in the investigation.
What is Artis unhappy about? I missed it.

That’s like breaking into the casino and only trying to steal rolls of quarters.

He will soon be employed by a prominent booster at the University of Alabama.
If anybody has ever wondered what's wrong with college sports this is it. Schools and our beloved VOL's as well, will do everything from giving cash payments or a job to a parent too giving a player player cash under the table and a "job" on top of getting a free education to play a game. It really is amazing when you think about outside the realm of being a sports fan. Do these same schools recruit kids that are extremely talented or extremely intelligent in other fields with the same amount of zeal. Think about if we had a message board dedicated to kids with IQ's over 150 a SAT over 1450 or a ACT of 28 or above instead of a 4*- 5* rating as a football player. Makes you think doesn't it.

GO VOLS....SCHOOL FOR BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH !!!!

UT generally doesn't pull scholarships when a player enters the portal. If the SA remains on campus, UT generally continues to provide academic and medical support, as well. Depending on the situation, coaches may restrict or limit sports-related access to facilities and team activities to prevent distractions to the team. But UT tends to allow access, unless the AD and HC don't want the player around the team.

It's HT's choice to be away from the team and not participate in team activities. QC is participating, as are others who might enter the portal after spring football. There's more roster reshaping to come, as the coaches replace transfer-outs with transfer-ins. We'll come out on top in some of these swaps.

They would do the same thing for smart kids if they brought the university millions of dollars.

Well, to be fair statistically speaking it's more common to see 1450 or higher on the SAT than it is to make the NFL among HS students. In 2020 of the 2.2 million who took the SAT 7% (almost 145k) students scored between 1400-1600.

Football
-- High school senior players who go on to play NCAA men's football: About one in 17, or 5.8 percent.

-- NCAA senior players drafted by an NFL team: About one in 50, or 2.0 percent.

-- High school senior players eventually drafted by an NFL team: About nine in 10,000, or 0.09 percent.

I guess he still hit the jackpot in his mind, got 3 meals a day and a bed instead of freezing under a bridge. Learned a lot about society working at that store. Always funny when people from the same church/work would wind up at the register and have that awkward moment.
