You mean, tougher than 3-7, allowing the oppositions defense to score more than our offense, not being able to get lined up correctly, and a "coaching staff" that couldn't handle properly cheating let alone play calling? I doubt it.

This isn't directed at you specifically Jave, I just get sick and tired of the negativity surrounding our program. Will next year be rough? Maybe. Fact of the matter is we have no idea. And while I'd like to believe that the players who are choosing to leave might help, again other than Eric Gray, you could argue no one that has left or will leave is doing so while playing to their fullest potential, or that they're leaving us with zero depth behind them.
I think Toot is a huge loss. Personally, I think Toot, Key, and Wanya are our biggest losses. Gray is a great player, but I think we can adequately replace him with guys currently on roster. It can easily be argued that the three I listed haven't played to their full potential, but that's mostly on coaching. Wouldn't it be great to have that potential still on our team, just waiting to get unlocked by our new coaches?

So toot is for sure gone or are we just speculating based on what the dad has said recently?

I’m excited about Rucker the most. I bet he plays a ton as a freshmen.

I also think Marley if he decides to play in the secondary could be a really good one. Not sure where he'll end up though and his hudl seems to be all of his RB/WR highlights, plus Jay recruited him so I think he was planning to play on that side of the ball.

With our coaching circus, I mean search, lasting so long, it hurt us in terms of finding quality guys in the portal... I could be wrong, but it seems like all the descent ones are already gone... Maybe the AL LB is still available, which we should go all in on for depth if Toot is definitely gone... trade Toot for this guy...

Nobody has transfers like we do! We're #1!!

iu

We don’t just lose scrubs, we lose 4- and 5-stars. We’re just equitable to the college football landscape like that.

The odds of running into someone who is a trained fighter in these situations has gone up exponentially in the last 20 or 30 years. If you're not trained to fight yourself, probably best just to be nice to everyone.

I'm not sure where you all are getting the "trained fighter" stuff from, unless I missed something. UFC becoming so popular has also lead to a lot of "bros" that try to do what they see in MMA, I know quite a few guys like this myself who haven't done a lick of actual training or sparring but attempt to mimic what they've seen in the UFC. The fact the guy had full rear mount in a public bathroom and tried to sink in a rear naked choke would have me questioning if he has any legit training. Most trained fighters I've seen in various YT fights don't even attempt to sink in any sort of submissions. I've seen one I think rear mount, but he used it to flatten out a drunk guy who tackled him. Didn't even throw a punch at the guy, just reversed him and got his back then flattened him out and held his arms on the floor while waiting for security/police to arrive.

There is still potential in the portal at LB and CB. And not just the Bama LB. The one position we could really use that I see lacking in the portal is OT. Losing both Wanya and Johnson, we could use someone with experience at LT, but not really seeing that in the portal atm. Maybe that changes after Spring.

I feel like this year getting 4 stars will be the equivalent of getting 5 stars in years past.
I don’t disagree but it’s not because they can’t recruit IMO JH has done a very good job of filling his staff with recruiters (especially on defense). What’s going to hurt JH is very little time to build relationships with the 22’ class and the extension of the dead period really hurts us.

Yeah Wanya & Jahmir are actually ranked as 2 of the top 3 available...

Here's one I'd be trying to snag, he's originally from Nashville and was at Memphis. No clue if he's enrolled at TCU yet or not.

24/7 List of OTs in portal.

At ILB I think Anthony from Michigan would be a good one to try and pull. Also the USC kid would be a dream get and I actually think Crouch could decide to stay once he sits down with the new guys and gets to know them, if we run a few more 4 man fronts then he could show out more than he has in the 3-4 scheme.

Michigan alone has 3 ILBs in the portal...I'm sure one of them would be interested in following BJM to Rocky Top.

There's a few potential LBs in there, and a few CBs too. But I just saw where Dreshun Miller is being forecast to Auburn. That sucks. I think he would have been a good one to pursue.

Yeah I left off a few guys I wasn't sure about, Butler and Bumphus being two of them. I also left off Garland, it's a deep positional group. Pretty excited to see who takes to Garner's tough love development the best.
How aren’t you sure about butler lol he is literally in one of the videos making everyone do jumping Jacks again

I don't really know if you want any of these guys on the team... they'd be killer in night games but probably wouldn't fare too well in daytime matches

The guy was a D1 Collegiate Wrestler (A very good one) and teaches MMA.

Senior who can grad transfer after Spring Practice and still play next year anywhere he wants. Basically any of the potential Grad Transfer guys can leave after Spring without any worry about eligibility, so I left them off. There's only three I left off though, Ja'Quain Blakely, LaTrell Bumphus, & Matthew Butler. Since Solomon has already transferred once I don't see him doing it again, Middleton took the long road to get to UT from playing at Oak Ridge he's not going anywhere.
