I don't think it'll be easy to replace Henry T, but I also remember there's some talent on roster... Whitehead if he moves to ILB could be a very good one. Eason is a monster and I think the staff guys from Memphis will know all about him and the other 2 from the trio. I'm also excited about Willis incoming and he's already enrolled which should benefit him a lot.

I'll be more interested to see what Garner does with that DL group I feel like it's got all the talent you could want in a group, with none of the development.

KaTron Evans - 4 star
Isaac Washington - 3 star
Byron Young - 3 star
Omari Thomas - 4 star
Tyler Baron - 4 star
Dominic Bailey - 4 star
Morven Joseph - 4 star

RJ Perry - 3 star (not sure if he'll stay on DL or move to OL)
Elijah Simmons - 3 star
Darel Middleton - 3 star
Greg Emerson - 4 star
Aubrey Solomon - 5 star
(pretty sure he's returning?)
John Mincey - 3 star
Is Butler still on the team?

If you look at the depth chart, it's not nearly as devoid of talent as some posters in here would make you believe. And I happen to believe that the depth is only a major concern at Defensive Back.

I'll be anxious to see what happens with a guy like Morven Joseph, especially if they move to a 4-man front. I'm not sure he's got the bulk to play DE, but I could be wrong.

Was a DB coach for a season, was an Associate Head Coach at Louisville with Strong for a few years, Recruiting Coordinator at Texas under Strong and then got AHC & DC while at South Florida (not sure if he was calling the plays though).

I was curious who he was coached by during his playing days at App St. As it turns out, Dale Jones was DL coach while he was playing LB, so he wasn't coached by Dale Jones specifically. I couldn't find a listing of assistant coaches at App St for 1993-1997 ... but it wasn't Dale Jones (not that it matters, was just curious if there was a connection).

Ouch. Going to be a tough year.

You mean, tougher than 3-7, allowing the oppositions defense to score more than our offense, not being able to get lined up correctly, and a "coaching staff" that couldn't handle properly cheating let alone play calling? I doubt it.

This isn't directed at you specifically Jave, I just get sick and tired of the negativity surrounding our program. Will next year be rough? Maybe. Fact of the matter is we have no idea. And while I'd like to believe that the players who are choosing to leave might help, again other than Eric Gray, you could argue no one that has left or will leave is doing so while playing to their fullest potential, or that they're leaving us with zero depth behind them.

One thing having a better SPC on the staff would also do is allow some of the younger talent to actually get meaningful in game experience. Sure it'll be covering kicks, but it's still teaching moments that carry over to playing in their position once the opportunity comes up.

One thing I have ABSOLUTELY hated about the Pruitt era was the ideal that he needed starters on special teams.

You have a roster full of guys that were highly rated recruits, who at this point in their careers haven't gotten any real game time...not even on special teams because previous staff wanted our starting DBs out there.

Interesting is that Buchanan wasn't even on the roster. So secondary is only losing Key. I highlighted a few of the younger guys that I would have thought could have gotten tons of experience on special teams, I know Edwards specifically flashed in a few limited snaps.

There's only so many spots in the secondary and past those 5 or 6 you got a lotta speed/talent not being utilized, when they could be learning a lot on special teams snaps.

Well, except for the BB loss yesterday it doesn't look like you all screwed to much up over then weekend.

I’m excited about Rucker the most. I bet he plays a ton as a freshmen.

With a mma/bjj gym on every corner now, you ever know what you’re gonna get into picking a fight!

The odds of running into someone who is a trained fighter in these situations has gone up exponentially in the last 20 or 30 years. If you're not trained to fight yourself, probably best just to be nice to everyone.

I think in the Covid/Post-Covid environment, coaches that have a real eye for talent (and then developing it) are going to have a big leg up due to no in person visits. The advantage goes to the coaches that can spot talent with the most minimal of time put in, and I think that will be a rare bird. I also think Media Recruiting rankings are going to be WAY off for the next couple years.
