It's a record since the 80s. I guess the 80s don't count as modern times. There sure were a lot of people talking about how much they love the 80s yesterday. They must be super old to have lived before modern times. It really is unprecedented in modern time's. Never had got that cold in Texas as far as records go.
Texas power companies are private not government.
Texas power companies aren't government. They are for profit private companies that we pay be reliable. I just keep seeing this misconception about Texas power being provided by government. It's not. It's different than most states. So government should be prepared, but individuals shouldn't? Both can happen.
Exactly. I get why people don't really know because it's different than most of the country. But it's frustrating getting those responses to legit complaints. Thus, when you pay for a service, you have every right to expect such service, with some consideration for short delay because of unexpected events. The level of unpreparedness is nothing more than greed. People have or will die because of it.
You have to watch this whole interview, it's in there somewhere. I don't care what people think about him, he is smart AF and wants to help planet Earth. And maybe make a trillion or 2 in the process, for the good tho,. Naw really is a good watch. Was Aired 3 days ago. So not old.
What in the sam hell does this even mean? I just never cared about the same things other people do so much. I remember once when I was very young something happened to make. Ahuge crowd look in one direction. I immediately thought, what's at our back, my mother was very inquisitive about why I was the only one not looking.I've met the dude. @StoVol is not the sharpest flame on the fire. And, I mean that in the kindest way.
The golden girls are funny as sh**. I like the bee gees and pina coladas and don't care who knows it!Ha ha! The last name was all we needed. We successfully defeated your Lifelock account , got your social security number , credit cards, and we know your guilty pleasure is watching the Golden Girls with a glass of Chardonnay .
That is what i heard on the news, maybe it was the coldest for the longest period of time. It's a record since the 80s. I guess the 80s don't count as modern times. There sure were a lot of people talking about how much they love the 80s yesterday. They must be super old to have lived before modern times.
Texas is different. It is unregulated. Some of the companies are non-profit, but most of them make plenty of profits to cover this. Texas chose to stay off the national grid and have our own private unregulated grid. Texas loves to brag about how much better it is, and how we're the energy capital. Well, you have to invest in providing the best and most reliable product if yer gonna make that claim. Not to get deep in the weeds or call anybody out - all power companies are regulated by each state and federal authority. Profitability is also limited due to their "monopoly", usually by a state public service commission or other entity. So they typically do not have sufficient capital to do everything they could do to prevent bad situations like what is happening in Texas. Add in ice storms are the absolute worst. If you are so inclined, pray for everybody who has been impacted as well as the crews being brought in from all over the country to restore power.
I believe they have landed there previously. The Curiosity rover from 2012 is still up there doing it’s thing.Hope that the Mar's rover Perseverance has a good landing today in that crater. They said it used to be a lake and is the best place to find evidence of microbial lifeforms. I expect fascinating discoverys if they get the landing down right.
