i think you measure your expectations as time goes on....all kinds of things will affect a single season's expectations....

no reason to set a bar now for 2024. no clue what that will look like, for any program.

i think we all know, and accept on some level, that UF, UGA and Bama are way out in front of us right now....and it would be surprising to most to see us catch up to that level of play in 3 years.

it's not unreasonable to believe it's possible to be an 8 win program by year 3/4, until or unless something dictates otherwise....

all i care about right now is can we win more than we lose? if the answer is yes, then let's go and see how far that gets us down the road. if the answer is no, well, then we are simply where we've been for the majority of the last 12 years, and we'll have to wait and see if this staff can get the point where they can put a product on the field capable of doing that.....

I think it’s certainly fair to say expectations should measured as time goes on but keep in mind that means it also isn’t fair to say the “normal” uptick of a program should be the expectations of a program that isn’t under “normal” circumstances

The power plants decided not to spend money to prepare for cold weather so they froze up. It's been predicted something like this could cripple them for years but they didn't want to invest in protecting against it. Shortsighted decisions imo.
Yeah...I got it after I posted that.

It's not hard to plan for it. It's been known it could happen. They just didn't want to invest in protecting against it. Business decisions with real human consequences.
I get it. But people would be pretty upset if we invested in protecting against every disaster that has real human consequences. I'm not in TX and I don't plan on moving their so I don't really have an opinion on the issue. I do think it would be interesting to see the cost benifit analysis now that it's obvious they didn't make a good decision.
they did the same "post disaster" evaluation in New Orleans after Katrina regarding the levies and drainage systems. there's always a woulda/coulda scenario out there.

problem is, we're talking worst case scenarios here, and rarely does anyone, much less the government or private companies, ever actually plan and invest in preventing that from happening.

"what are the chances of that actually happening, again?"
" and how much would it cost for the preventative measures, again?"
"yeah, it's hard no"

Bout dang time. Gonna find out how much talent we really have in that room now. They aren’t handcuffed, blindfolded, and having their hands held anymore
Do you think JP loved Weinke so much because he was willing to handcuff, blindfold, and hold hands to make the coach happy?

Not gonna click it. Take a lap.

Bailey better hope it is him.

He is the highest rated QB in the group, and the only one with no mobility to speak of.
I think "No mobility" is inaccurate. He is not a dual threat, but he moves in the pocket well and seemed to have good instincts on when to tuck it. I think he is reasonably tough, also.

When the consequences are close to 40% of the population of Texas freezing in their homes how do you measure costs? And now they want to pass those costs of fixing the issue to get us power back on, to said population with price gouging. There were a lot of shortsighted decisions made by a lot of people that caused this. But trying to find who to blame right now is all anyone wants to do when that should probably wait till the current issue is resolved.

yeah, not saying they are, or should. but they can be, depending on how things go, and what all happens over the next 2-3 years....

and that goes both ways., i think most would say the expectations for this program were higher headed in to last season because of what happened at the end of 2019, the recruiting, the staff etc....

one year later..........bunch of stuff happens.............and we expect little to nothing now.

:)

Awesome. Hope he told you stories.
I wish I had recorded all of his stories, he lived to be 97. Had a pet bobcat while at Fort Bayard in New Mexico. One day he was on the parade grounds with the bobcat and Pershing’s hounds attacked the cat. The bobcat cut both of the them up, the duty Sgt. was going to shoot the cat, Pershing came out and told the Sgt. to leave the cat the hell alone, said the dogs got what they derserved.

....it's a tale old as time.

I'm not sure Pruitt's final defense would have been a base 4-2-5, rather he was forced into it with not enough LB's who could cover. Anyways with Thompson and keyshawn gone I legit cant name the DB 2-deep rotation. Prepare for alot of Kenneth George I guess
George-Taylor-Burrell-Rucker-Charles-Solomon

Flowers-McCollough-Jackson-Labruzza-Slaughter

Definitely transfer hungry.
