When has that ever mattered at any program in history? Name the top 25 programs and I'd bet none of them have a HC or majority of staff who are alum. Ask JH if he would recommend anyone coach at their Alma mater lol. People get so hung up on "getting Tennessee guys." Yes you can find a few exceptions where it worked, but it's far from the norm.
Lol.

I’m just saying everyone was saying we needed more UT Blood so that our program can get back to normal, and now we are getting it and everyone is still freaking out.

Just find it interesting for those individuals who wanted that. Since that’s what we are getting right now.

Also, all of these people being brought in who were UT Grads have been very successful and I think that love for the University coupled with them being good at their jobs is a Great and Positive thing for this University.

As silly as this sounds ... have you ever saw any video footage from the glory days of yesteryear (you know, back in the 90's) when the team would recite the maxims, as is one of our unique traditions? Man, they were into it. They were all jacked and ready like savages. Contrast that with what little footage you can find since ... sounds like a bunch of bored kids that think it's stupid. I'd kinda like to have some UT folks involved who are engaged with UT and our rich traditions, and will embrace the next generation of Vols, many of whom didn't grow up loving the Big Orange and our traditions, passing along that legacy of passion for all things UT.

Oh, and win.

I'm not saying I want UT people so the maxims will be more exciting on video ... that's just a simple illustration of a bigger picture.
I hope that makes sense, and, as always, just my opinion.

Isn’t it just as racist to strike out on five black guys and keep passing up the white guy who is also a good fit for the job? At some point you have to decide you tried to do your part and just take the best candidate, even if he is a whitey.
It's also an insult to all the black coaches ring interviewed. It just gives off an appearance that they are only being interviewed because of skin color and not coaching capability. Hence the reason for all the rejections.

From reading the UCF board, being spineless was one of the biggest knocks on Heupel. To be successful here, he needs to be allowed to take charged of this coaching search.

the biggest misconception in diversity hiring is that hiring a person of color means you’re sacrificing quality.

What your doing is giving a person of color with comparable resume and qualifications a shot to **** things up as badly as the previous non-diverse hire did. LOL
If you are using skin color as a hiring metric, you are by definition devalueing metrics that are actually related to success, therefore sacrificing quality.

Maybe in 1 of 100 hires you have a minority candidate with equal qualifications as someone else, so you pick them. But that is a hypothetical that doesn't actually play itself out in real life.

If you are constantly running into the problem of being unable to distinguish between candidates, you are either hiring for an unskilled labor position (which isn't what we are talking about), or your talent evaluation procedure sucks.

And we know that is BS. Bring us the man who can do the job.
