I think that is a fair question.

Maybe the money and a chance to prove his offense works in the SEC as a HC?
'

Yeah my first thought was the allure of an SEC job and the money (and buyout) that come with it, but usually thats coaches who are in a nowhere spot and don't exactly know the administration. JH knew exactly what he was getting in having DW as athletic director...I just think it would be crazy to follow him to a very tough job with investigation looming, and leaving the best G5 job in the county if he didn't have 100% confidence in DW

Don’t believe a coach would willingly risk their career, thus their future earning potential, by agreeing to come to place with this much of a spotlight if they didn’t work well with the AD.

And seeing as how these two definitely have worked together before, Heup would be in a better position than anyone to know what it’s like working with this AD.

I do believe this board is diving head first into conspiracy theories.

So on the theory that DW is a meddler and ruined JH with the shannon hire and forcing that on him....then why would JH follow him to TN? If he really didn't like how it was being run, I don't think he would've left UCF.
Pretty simple. JH come to UT and get paid. Get a chance to win a national championship. Also, sorry about the Shannon hire. That was my bad and it won’t happen again. And ba boom.

From Basilio: "Insiders have been saying for days that AD Danny White has been steering the DC search toward an African-American, especially in the wake of the Tee Martin controversy."

He had the information "for days" and just now says it? Sounds like ole Tony has his spy reading Volnation daily :):):)

Well now you have. He's roadkill.

Edit: nevermind. Apparently he survived.

Thank the Lord.

I mean, seriously, I was so blown away by how near impossible that whole scenario would have to be, literally for his head to be exactly where it was at exactly the same time something so unlikely as a flying tire was in that same spot ... I honestly never even considered if he survived.

When y'all brought that up, it actually bothered me.
So, seriously, thankful he's alive.

Black coaches are underrepresented at the coordinator (and HC) level, so I honestly don't mind White trying to make a hire in that direction. I also think it's important the coaching staff represents 80% of the roster.

The problem I have is White and Heupel possibly not being on the same page. If your HC wants to hire x, you should hire x, if you trust him as much as you say you do.

Again, I thought we were living in the post-insider era now.

Do we only trust “insiders” when they have negative, conspiratorial nuggets?

*not aimed at you BMV, just trying to keep up with the volnation roller coaster of emotions 😃

basilio's "insiders" are message board posters

Yes, he just does that to stir the pot and get clicks. Throw some made up garbage about race—rinse and repeat. Tee has never been an OC calling his own plays (besides that CO-OC role with Southern Cal which was more of a promotional thing to give him a bump for recruiting)—-love Tee and everything but it’s just stupid. Easy career advice go be an OC at Grand Valley State or somewhere like that...

I don't think anyone has a problem with diversity. But my viewpoint is simple: let Heupel hire whoever he wants, and let that guy be the best candidate, no matter his skin color.

That gif reminded me of the 130 car pileup on I-35 in Ft Worth yesterday. They all were in the HOV lanes and must have been traveling pretty fast. Those barriers were on both sides of the lanes and there was no way to avoid the initial accident. Lots of big rigs involved and a total mess. 6 people died. Cars and trucks were crushed. It was on an overpass and evidently full of black ice.

Sounds horrible.
This guy however, comes so close to pulling off his stunt, only to ... not.
The irony here is what makes it humorous ... assuming he survived with no major injuries of course.

Edit: So apparantly you were being serious, per another poster later in the thread. Sorry that this post sounds insensitive in light of what you posted. I didn't take you serious because of a silly motorcycle mishap gif, and then you mentioned that it reminded you of a horrible accident wherein people died. I thought you were pulling my leg. Sorry.
