Galilee on vq really talking up Mack.

He’s a well known Memphis area poster & has been around for a long time. Says Mack has a great reputation with a lot of coaches in Memphis & the Whitehaven staff.
Plus if you watch the video that Swanson posted, Price said Cutcliff called it a great hire and spoke well of him as a coach and a person. NCCU is located in Durham and they had spoken at several clinics together and Duke played NCCU several times while Jerry Mack was the HC.

Conklin is my preference over Rodgers but I’m good with both. More bc of a Conklin has been in college and fits with JH style. He is aggressive. He has LSU and Texans stealing coaches he has developed at Wofford. Winning HC

Wofford in 2019 defense was #1 in his conference in total defense, rush defense and sacks.

In 2018, #1 in conference in total defense, scoring defense, rushing defense and passing defense.

In 2016 at Pitt they were #6 nationally in sacks. 8th nationally in defensive TDs, 16th national vs run. They had 111 sacks in his 3 seasons as DC. Ejuan Price had 24.5 sacks in 2 seasons under him. Also developed Jordan Whitehead. Learned under a stud in Narduzzi

His fiu defense prior to Pitt was number 1 nationally in fumble recoveries, 2nd in defensive TDs, 4th in turnovers.

Byron Moore Was 8th in nation in interceptions the one yr Conklin was his Saftey coach.

JH said he wants an aggressive style coach that gets after QB and forces turnovers. This is his guy imo. Perfect fit.

Thanks for the detail.

Hubbs said Cutcliffe told him Mack was an outstanding hire. Dealt with him a lot when Mack was NC Central HC. Whitehaven Hc also commented under Swain comment his excitement as Mack is a Whitehaven grad
yeh but Bruin and Weezer say it’s a crap hire so it must be accurate lol. I agree w Cut. I think this team will really like this guy as well.

People being blindly pessimistic is the problem.
Truthfully, it seems we've faced the exact opposite the last 3 hires. Plenty of us blindly bought into Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt. Each time I ignored the little voices warning me otherwise and jumped into the deep end of belief, only to be disappointed. I've tried hard not to be overly negative, only express my concerns, but there's a lot to be concerned about. And a lot of people want to ignore those concerns as if they don't exist.

But ultimately, it doesn't matter how we think this set of coaches, or any set of coaches, works out. We don't get to decide who is and isn't hired. But it's silly, IMO, to attack someone for expressing doubt in these coaches. It's not as if I'm attacking anyone for believing in them. I've said it before, we all want what's best for the team, we just have different opinions of what that is. And that should be okay, only for some, it's not.

Ok I’m done

I mean... this program hired Kevin Steele a few weeks ago before letting the whole staff go a few days later. It's sort of more of the same.
I agree but maybe just maybe they have already got the DC and for some reason, contractually or some type of courtesy to his previous job, who knows, they may be waiting. DW does thing at his own pace and he sets the timetable, something that we are not use to but a good change I think.
