Seems like all of the known *new* hires by Heupel (coaching and support staff) all have a Tennessee focus, which is just to say he is backing up his words with actual action. A rarity around these parts.

That depends on your idea of distance..I lived in Clearwater and it just took me a little over an hour to get there...that is real close to most people

Was in Lagos on assignment and they judge distance with time. “An hour” there is equal to “across the street” stateside.

I was definitely on the fence when it was announced but it seems like it’ll be a hell of a hire in the long run.

Here we go again. Bunch of folks don't like Mack hire. Any specific reason? Just don't like anything out of habit? Guy hasn't coached RBs? So what. He's coached WRs and QBs. Lot more technical positions. He understands protections, checks , and schemes as an OC. Good, solid hire.

I love the way people are questioning his ability as a recruiter for no other reason except he's not who they wanted.

People not being blindly optimistic is being miserable? Blind optimism has failed me three times now when it comes to HCs at UT. I desperately want to be good again, but I'm not sure why you think I should be ecstatic over an underwhelming hire? I'll keep hoping I'm wrong, but I just feel like we're headed down the wrong path again. Are the only acceptable opinions the ones you agree with?

Not to mention I’m sure he has some relationships with a lot of North Carolina high schools from his time at NC Central.
