JM at florida would fit that mold

and it’s possible if not likely it will be the end to their current coach as well
No. JM was just a bad coach. He was supposed to be an offensive guru and the offense regressed under him and it was already awful when Muschamp was there. That says a lot

All I will say is there are good coaches out there who can recruit to UT, and we don’t know their names. We don’t have to have people that we already know about. There are good, young recruiters all over the country who had to get their first shot.
It amazes me how many people in here still think we are the Tennessee of the 90's. UT is as low as it's ever been in it's existence but some of these goobers think we can just snap our fingers and hire anyone with just a phone call. I will support whoever the hires are because I love UT. The LOM's are making their presence known again.

I find it really odd we would hire a DL coach before a DC and then expect the DC to keep him.

Very strange way of doing things.
You gotta be a special type of stupid to be taking a DC job in the SEC and not want Rodney Garner as your DL coach. That’s half the recruiting work off your plate from the jump, not to mention never having to worry about if the DL is being coached well or not

Pittsburgh Resume:

YPP:
2014 - 68th *Year before he arrived
2015 - 76th *Y1
2016 - 87th
2017 - 88th (1 spot behind 2017 UT)

PPG allowed:
2014 - 58th *Year before he arrived
2015 - 57th *Y1
2016 - 106th
2017 - 65th

3rd down:
2014 - 40th *Year before he arrived
2015 - 75th *Y1
2016 - 76th
2017 - 83rd

RZ TD% Allowed (bright spot?)
2014 - 120th *Year before he arrived
2015 - 39th *Y1
2016 - 107th
2017 - 30th

Hmmmm
He's a bad hire. Period.

In the true spirit of all that is holy, my wife I visited our grand university, today, on my birthday. And I present to you a picture that will live with me as forever sacred. Maybe it’s 22 years of marriage. But this is dedication to the cause and I am humbled in the presence of General Neyland!

And over the years he's become more highly thought of as a developer of talent.

Do we think it's at all possible that DW and JH are trying to push Steele and Garner onto the potential DCs, and that's why we keep getting turned down? Seems doubtful, but the timing of the Garner announcement plus the fact that Steele is still apparently operating as a staff member seem weird.

Hordes of S-Corp owners that don't want to pay themselves even a dime of salary, avoid taxes, and turn around and get a gubmint loan/grant 😭

They should be more worried about the IRS than they are...
It’s a good way for them to get their S status revoked.
