With all due respect that’s easy to say when it’s not your future that’s on the line.

I don’t want to lose him no more than anyone else but I won’t fault him for making a decision that he feels is in his best interest.

Lol I hear you but I will fault him. Be a VFL! That means not transferring to Bama. If you need to leave, fine. But you can't leave to go there. The second you do that you lose the support of this community for life.

I will..there are many great programs with great coaching out there...he doesn't have to go to our most hated rival and help bury us even deeper..

This is absolute 💩🐂..I hope he rots if he goes there, Georgia or Florida.

And...he can take his ******** dear john letter and shove it up his traitorous ass..🤬

If he goes to one of those.
Agreed, whats wrong with USC, OK, OSU?

Ok..but he is harmless, and is never a dick to people unless they are a dick to him first.

And sunshine pumpers that refuse to ever acknowledge the truth and piss on everybody that does are the opposite extreme of Catbone and even worse in my book.

Not saying you are one of those..just the kid is a mess, but he is our mess.

Agreed. Ive been a fan for over 50 years. Not a sunshine pumper, but I do bleed orange. Had my first season ticket as a 12 yr old. First game I remember was that year....it was John Ward's first game, the tie against UGA in 1968. Remember the night game against Penn State a few years later. Some good years under Dickey; then the SOB left us for Fla. Supported Battle till it was obvious he was in over his head. Accepted Dickey back as AD when BW retired, but didnt fully trust him for quite awhile. Turned out okay.
Was in school there when Majors was trying to build the program. Highlight was Hubert Simpson's four TD game when we spanked ND. Lots of low-lights during that period. Season ticket holder every year since 82. VASF member since its inception in 1986. Been to at least one home game every year since 68. Seen alot of great games and wins, and a bunch I'd like to forget.
Was on the Gridscape board early on as Voluble. When it started winding down migrated here in 08. Ive watched how our fanbase on these venues has evolved. I don't like alot of it. Say what you want but its not a flattering picture. So much so that our new AD tried to address it and was castigated by some.
The house cleaning that we have just witnessed is unlike anything that I have seen at UT in my time. It was much needed and overdue. But it is done. And we now have all new people in leadership positions.
Do we not, as fans, owe this new leadership our support until they prove otherwise? And by otherwise, I mean actual W's and L's on the field and performance in the games. How internet wannabe experts can call acts and actions failures based on their own small sample size of knowledge, when the people who's job it is are undoubtedly doing what they think gives the program the best chance to get back to where we belong......among college football's elite class...........well its reflective I think of what is wrong with our society and culture. Give them instant gratification or give them death!
I choose life, and a return of the Big Orange to where they belong. Go Vols!

You are mad at the wrong person..... it is the ut administration that has made our school such a mess.
No...I'm not. That is traitorous bullcrap. It is spitting in our collective face...I hope he rots there. This isn't the NFL...crap like this is never forgotten.

If..he goes there..

While we're waiting I have some people I love in need of prayers. A friend collapsed at a game Saturday. She has a brain tumor. Another friend's daughter had COVID a month ago and has been falling up to 30 times a day. Vanderbilt can't find a reason. She is only 16. My son is having panic attacks. He says they're almost back to back. Thanks y'all

I don't understand the Kacy Rodgers love. He is a very good DL coach, but as a DC in the NFL his defense allowed:

2015: 19.6 PPG (9th)
2016: 25.6 PPG (28th)
2017: 23.9 PPG (22nd)
2018: 27.6 PPG (29th)

Now getting to be a DC in the NFL is a hell of an accomplishment, but he hasn't recruited since 2002 when he was the DL coach at Arkansas. He may be great here, but I don't see how you can be so optimistic about hiring a 51-year-old position coach who failed as an NFL DC. The college game is obviously very different from the NFL, but this feels like a stretch. He played way before I was born, but if we continue to suck (which seems likely), I would like to avoid disliking another former Vol while doing it.

That is kind of the way I feel.

I think most folks, myself included, feel like the options for DC we have are limited due to all the negative variables our program has experienced. From the limited pool I think someone with some legit DC play calling experience who has shown he can develop players at the highest level is attractive. I continue to believe our only road out of this mess is a Barnes type developer. Maybe he’s it maybe he’s not but out of the options available seems like a good choice imo
