Why do we continue to allow vescovi to play lazy to end games

It’s every game when pressure is applied. Most teams have figured out Vescovi - he struggles with pressure. UGA pressed him from the start.

Also, did anyone else notice how the refs completely changed how they called the game in the last 10 minutes? Didn’t call touch fouls all game, and then they literally called everything.

The last few minutes of a basketball game are painful.

I wish Bull Meechum was still alive. I’d like to have him as DC... or at least a guy with that mindset/attitude. Dude was a gem :)

I was at that game with my dad. We were sitting at the very top on that side of the court behind the basket with our backs against the wall.

The whole game was stressful and tense. Grant scored 43 points. Going an incredible 23-23 from the free throw line. We had to have every one of them to win. He would not accept defeat.

Vandy fans thought they had no chance going into the game and were playing nice early on. Talking us up. At some point it became obvious we weren't going to blow Vandy out. This was going to be a game and those geeks started getting cocky. Because you have to remember we had just been ranked #1 in the polls the previous week. The last time we were ranked #1 (2008) we ended up dropping out of that spot immediately with a loss to Vanderbilt. That loss was faintly in the air in the build up to the game. But at some point it was in everybody's mind and Vandy thought them winning that game was their destiny.

I thought we were toast, multiple times. The whole tone in the room changed back and forth. But then we just slowly and methodically grinded our way back in it and ultimately stole their souls. I don't know if I've ever seen them so defeated. They thought they were special and could actually beat us. The best team. But they weren't and they couldn't. Hahah. It was so satisfying.

Tennessee fans took over the place after that Bowden dunk. It was loud and vicious and gratifying and one of the best Vol memories in my mind.
