I’ll always defend that play (almost threw a beer bottle through my TV). Les Miles made a very late mass substitution, and in a mad scramble we tried to rush the right personnel on and off and failed. However, where the fail occurred (according to Lou Holtz) was by the referee not standing over the ball to allow the Tennessee substitution which would have caused the clock to run out. Miles’ late substitution should not have been allowed as such.
Absolutely.

That plus an LSU player removed and lobbed a helmet on a defensive penalty that gave LSU that other play. Uncalled as well.

A guy called into John and Jimmy’s show and said he was from South Dakota and CJH was his athletic adversary growing up from elementary school through high school.. he said Josh beat him at everything and it frustrated him so much, that he moved to TN to get away from him many years ago... now JH is the head coach in Knoxville lol
That is classic!

How much different does that year look with that win? Does Dooley’s career look different if that doesn’t happen then the later BS vs UNC?
Success feeds itself. As much as I caved and now advocate Brady as GOAT, without The Tuck I wonder what would’ve happened.
