Gotta be patient. It’s a tough spot for UT to be in rite now. All the cards are against us. It’s gonna be a tough road

I think the "if he is coming for the money I don't want him" perspective if a little flawed. Certainly understand the sentiment. But ONCE HE IS HERE he is not going to halve only one toe in the water. He is 36 and has a long career in front of him. Plus to be where he is at at the age of 36 he is a highly driven and competitive person. If he makes the decision to come here because he likes the $$$ then that is fine. It is how the marketplace works. I don't have concerns that he would get here and half@ss his job because he just wants a paycheck. He is too young and driven for that.

If that’s the way he feels he’ll always want to be in Columbus and just make the rounds until his contract is up. We just got rid of a bunch of this “coaches”.
That’s not true at all.... my heart is in Tennessee but I live and work in North Carolina.... his doing a bad job directly effects his career which is the most important things to him

That's the problem man. Nobody wants to be here with what we have going on plus the perception that it's difficult to pair with Heupel's offense. we're going to have to overpay to get someone to come.

But no worries right? We're gonna hang 70 on everyone so it won't matter who we get on defense right? that's what you've been saying, so by your logic we don't really need this guy...

You are going to have to overpay in a lot of cases for coaches. I’m sure Al Washington is weighing the pros and cons. Money might be a lot of things but there is also a lot to be said the situation he’s coming into. It’s a risk worth taking. People thought career SEC assistant Chaney would rock it here too —not so much.

As someone who has had the experience of working at a job they liked and had a lot of friends, and then taken a more lucrative offer to pick up and move to another state, I will say to give the guy a break. This is a big life decision for him and his family. The fact that he is taking his time when he is getting pulled in two directions at once doesn't mean he's not going to be committed or give his best efforts in Knoxville if we get him. If he does take the job, let's all get behind him and give him a warm welcome on The Hill. If he doesn't, then next man up.
If he does come here, regardless of head or heart, then it’ll be good. It’s for sure not the old guard. He’ll work hard to prove himself as DC to make a name for himself and in the meantime maybe actually start to like the place like we all have.
