Big truth, I work in engineering and women especially are coveted as hires and team members. The career field as a whole needs more people involved and expanding is crucial to keep up with industry demands. So STEM programs are aggressively recruiting and diversifying at all levels of education to expand the workforce.
Nice execution of the word dawdle twice in once post. They want this done today, imo. So if he’s a no, they’re talking to the next guy as we speak...no dawdling. All you Danny White haters take note that he may miss...but he doesn’t dawdle and lick his wounds. He’s on to the job. That’ll benefit us greatly as things get better.
Pay Steele $1.5 mil for three years and lock it so he can't leave, give him a $$ incentive to kick butt, improve the roster, and develop the kids on D... Bring Garner with the same type of contract to incentivize production and movement upward.
By then (3yrs) we will know if JH is for real or not and we can move on from Steele if we want and get someone else because our program will hopefully be in a different place without any sanctions and moving up.
What? What a terrible take. Supply and demand bud. He knows his skill, the available market, and our demand. He has all the leverage.
Diversity is a big focus in my industry. too. It's also a focus at UT, which has diversity plans and goals for all departments and programs, including faculty, staff, vendors and students. I've been directly involved with it, since I've hired student interns.
