I am sitting trying to maintain my equanimity having relatively deployed the great Lou Bond whom I once saw perform in a small coffee house in the Cooper-Young district, he recently having returned from a stand in Paris.

I fear the shadow of my Roshi has befallen me and that he will discipline me with a wallup over the head with a 2" x 4". I break my concentration and whirl my head around to contumaciouly check my teacher with my eyes. His arm is raised to strike me but instead of a 2" x 4" he grasps a whispy willow fond which he brings against my shoulder. Suddenly I awaken. I am merely awaiting a DC announcement. Time for bed.
You get a like for the use of contumaciouly. Had to look it up. I'm a bit of a word junkie and hadn't heard that one before.

No, rap is truly terrible. Not only can hardly a word be understood, but it propagates terrible values and behaviors.
That's like saying all country music is depressing (my girl left me, my dog died, etc.). I'll be the first to admit I can only catch a word or two but others can get every word first try. I'm just saying I'm sure not all rap is degenerate.

But I don't judge.

Why is this always the focal point?

I look at his coaching staff and think he hired the best for the job. I don't look at it as a black think or a women thing.

Someone should point out to Ryan Clark that BA used white superman Tom Brady to rob black QB Patrick Mahomes of a SB trophy. Racism!

It’s the focal point because that’s why Arians made those hires.
He did it on purpose. He went and found qualified black coaches and women and put them on his staff.
The man who made the hires made it a focal point and he has talked about his reasoning numerous times.

Recognizing stuff like this in the media just separates everybody more IMO

it does not.

If hearing that a team with all black coordinators and women on the strength staff (which has been unheard of) makes you want to separate yourself from society then it’s clear, the media nor these coaches are the root of your problem.

I don’t think it’s always the focal point is the issue. (& yeah I’m talking about on the hiring side of things, not media). Anyways, as a female, I’m encouraged to see this.

People feeling sorry for themselves
Being a crybaby has become a thing now
It’s no longer popular to be strong and work harder, unfortunately it’s easier to bitch and complain especially if your a female or African American

In a weird sort of way I think the old adage you get what you pay for mostly aligns with what we spend on coaches relative to everyone else in the conference. jmo.

All these numbers come from the USA Today database that tracks all coaching salaries across the country. At the top you have Alabama, then the next 12 teams are broken into groups of 3 for each tier, and then at the bottom you have Vanderbilt.

When the media suggests that we as Tennessee fans are not being realistic and Tennessee is not that attractive of a job anymore, well, we sort of have fallen behind in more ways than one. jmo.

These numbers are sourced and I'm putting this out here so hopefully a few more fans will start to understand we may need to be investing more money into compensation if we want to attract coaches that tend to be more associated with better performing programs. jmo.

This chart, more than any other, truly reflects what has caused our issues the last 13 years, and apparently will continue to cause them. I am very discouraged now. Not because of you. Simply because these numbers don't lie.

Even if that is the case... why?

Hire the best person available no matter the skin color, religion, sex.

This is part of the problem as to why America can not move forward.

You can’t move forward when some of the same issues they occurred previously still occur today! Some ppl just would like to sweep the issues under the rug and turn a blind eye to it but until issues are addressed on both sides (black and white) then the issues will continue to occur!

If a women is qualified to be a coach and is the best available then hire her for that position.
If a black person is qualified to be a coach and is best available then hire them for that position.
If a white person is qualified to be a coach and is best available then hire them for the job.

I'll say it again race, religion, sex should have no barring on who you hire. The only thing that should matter is to hire the best available.

Side note: there are women very close to me that don't believe women should be coaches in football. They believe it's just a way for America to be WOKE.

If only the league in question didn’t have an extremely long history of doing the exact opposite of that.

BA went out of his way to do the opposite because it was pretty clear to him that most others in his position had not historically done so.
